The Turks are one group of people you don’t want to mess with. This could be a problem for Syria.

Shining spots of incompetence can show up in the most fierce organization.

They, the Turks, are probably just sorry that the news release wasn’t managed so they could blame the Israelis. Not that they won’t still try.

Have been on the Breaking News Thread F15 regarding this subject. Has any news organization interviewed the pilots or pilot of the (allege) shot down Turkish plane?

It must take a lot of work to keep an old F-4 Phantom in the air after all these years.

Agreed. A Wag or Eat the Dog moment is not in order. A prayer for time and truth.

Suggests that Turkish aircraft ECM and countermeasures are lacking.

It was a “flying brick”. I don’t think they had and counter measures at all. The Turkish F16 are a totally different animal. Want to bet the IAF was watching all of this?

The thought it was an Israeli plane. Oh well no big deal. We’re sorry.

The fighter jet was shot down over the coastal town of Ra’es al-Baseet and went into the water near the seaside city of Latakia. Another jet was also shot at.

Both pilots are in Syrian custody, Syria has apologized for the shoot down and will return the pilots.

Some iNet sites are reporting it as an RF-4E. Makes sense it would be one of those at this time.

Syria might be trying to draw NATO into the fray so Russia can justify sending arms to the region.
The Middle East is Gods Monkey House. Everyone throwing their own crap at each other with no rhyme or reason. Arm Israel to the teeth, start drilling here and be done with the lot of them.
