A lot of people were taken aback today by a bold, out of the blue campaign fund raising tactic.
The campaign to retain The Usurper in the pResidency has asked that ordinary folks give up their gifts. That's wedding gifts, birthday gifts, anniversary gifts and for all we know, the flowers and candy you were going to give that "special someone" on Sweetest Day (because they already missed out on Valentine's day.)

I'm sure that if the months of December and November were reversed on the calendar, the children's Christmas toys and stocking stuffers would be fair game as well.
It is no secret that this regime is short on logic and reason. The only political theories it espouses are the proven failures of Marx, Keynes and their latter day proteges, Alinsky and Reich. What follows hand in hand with the errant cousins of Socialism, Communism and Fascism is the inevitable Cult of Personality.
Frequently in religious cults, one of the first indoctrination protocols is to divorce the neophyte from traditional ties to family and friends. Birthdays, weddings and traditional holidays are all treated as if they do not exist. This is quite evident in cults like The Jehovah's Witnesses, who stress divorcement from the outside world to the extent that their "churches" are even built without windows.
The Cult of The Narcissist Usurper is not yet in a position to make such radical demands on its faithful. But the fact that they feel comfortable in asking their adherents to forgo the traditional expressions of joy in the lives of their extended families speaks volumes about the demands they would make should they succeed in retaining power.
After all, it's only proper Doublethink that The State (in the person of its Dear Leader) that feeds you, gives you medicine, provides for your housing, raises your children and teaches them the "right" way to think should be the real benefactor in your moments of social celebration as well.
The choice is plain and simple. A free market and its concomitant free society will generate the wealth that begets generosity on all levels. The failed notion that economics is a zero-sum game can only survive with ever growing and more intrusive "sacrifices."

The usurper does not want generosity on all levels because he can't monitor and control it. Hence the "worthy" registry is the one that gives gifts to the collective. Of course this collective just happens to be Obama's own campaign, but that's how it always works with these filthy totalitarians.
