We can do it! We can work together to elect the best Conservatives to Congress from our Sunshine State!
Remember, we have two new Florida Congressional Districts and many FL US House Districts have changed!
We need to make sure we elect as many Conservatives as we can!
Let's do everything we can to keep our Republidan seats in Congress! We have just Bill Nelson to vote out and 6 Incumbent/Socialist/Progressive/Marxist/DEMS to vote out of the US House!
Our action in the upcoming Republican Primary Election will help elect the best Conservative to get the job done in November!
Please help post information about the Republican candidates running in your Congressional District and share this thread link with your Florida email lists.
We made GREAT PROGRESS in 2010, so let's make even more in 2012!
don’t forget the judges we need to vote out
NOTICE THERE ARE SEVERAL WHOSE CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT HAS CHANGED.

I don’t think he stands a chance against a likely well funded incumbent.
The other Dist. 4 R challenger quite frankly sounded like a Democrat to me after reading her website.
http://election.dos.state.fl.us/SOE/supervisor_elections.shtml
Thanks for finding his web site! I was going to check again but didn’t find one for him when I did for the other candidates.
And thanks for your feedback. Hoping many Freepers will share what they know about candidates in their particular ditricts.
Primary races are the time to try to elect the best Conservative to face the DEMRAT in November!
I also know that even if some of our Conservative candidates are not as Conservative as we would like, we need to support them against the DEMS come November.
Once we get control of the Senate and keep the House and get a Conservative in our White House, we can then work on keeping tabs on the RiNOish Conservatives for future elections.
We just must get Obama and as many members of his gang out of office come November!

Thanks! The 10th is now the 13th but we still have CW Bill Young ... I’m betting he’s safe, for better or worse.
My feeling is that our efforts would best be directed toward booting Nelson out of the Senate.
Here is a great article which certainly points out the importance of our taking control of the Senate and keeping control of the House! Also great to send to every “Bush hater” we know!
This sure points out the importance of having control of the House and Senate! Also great to send to every Bush hater you know!
Thanks for this thread. We used to be represented by Ileana ros Lehtinen, she was really good as far as constituent sevices go.
Don’t know who we have now in the Keys.
The easy way for everyone in FL to check their Congressional District for 2012 is to go to your County Supervisor of Elections website and put in your address to check your Congressional District. District lines cross through more than one County, to your address is the only way to know your District for sure. Here is the link. Just click on your particular County.
http://election.dos.state.fl.us/SOE/supervisor_elections.shtml
I too was under Young. I met him a few times, seemed affable enough, but he’s def. one of those lifetimers that should probably be rotated out. I know a few people who’ve tried to run against him, but he’s got a real campaign machine behind him.
I lucked out and found myself under Bilirakis, who I absolutely adore as a Representative. Very happy about that.
See here:

See my post #3 for info on District changes. If you voted for Lehtinen in 2010 you were in FL District 18. She is now running in District 27 and is unopposed. She will face DEM Manny Yevancey in November.
Perhaps your Congressional District is now District 27. Check at this link below. Click on your County (Monroe?)and put your address in at your Supervisor Of Elections website. Your District and Precinct information is there.
You may still be in Lehitinen’s District, and if so your new voter card will say District 27. Hubby and I went from District 10 to District 14!

Thanks very much.

Those who live in Pinellas might want to check out the candidate vetting that was done by the South Pinellas 9/12. Their recommendations are at this link.
http://thecandidatescorner.com/candidates_2012.html
Thanks for the information! We DO need to elect fine Conservatives to the Florida House and Senate!
I hope more Florida Freepers will post information about the Primary candidates running for our State House and Senate with links to their websites.
I will be working on a list of candidates who have been vetted by various grassroots groups throughout the state. The link I posted of the South Pinellas 9/12 Group shows their recomendations. They vetted Judges too.
Apparently the Romney camp is vetting him for a VP slot! Have you seen that?
Like I said, I’m glad I’m under Bilirakis now.
No, I did not hear about the Romney camp vetting Bilirakis for possible VP position. There sure has been a lot of different Republicans in the news concerning being vetted for VP! Latest bein Condi Rice, which I do not believe will come to pass.
In case anyone is interested, here are the dates the Florida Republican candidates for US Senate filed their paperwork to run in the Republican Primary.
————————— Date filed:- Date Qualified: ——Method:
Mike McCalister—— 09/21/2010 - Qualified:06/04/12 - Pd.Fee
Marielena Stuart—— 08/12/2011 - Qualified:06/04/12 - Pd.Fee
Dave Weldon-——— 05/23/2012 - Qualified:06/04/12 - Pd.Fee
Connie Mack-——— 06/04/2012 - Qualified:06/04/12 - Pd.Fee
Note: The qualifying fee had to be in by 06/04/12, and each candidate qualified on that date.
Colonel Mike McCalister filed first and my hubby and I had the honor of meeting him soon after that. I hope ALL Republican voters in FL will check out each candidate and give their support to their favorite. Mine is still Colonel Mike McCalister.
As I have said before, I will give my full support to whomever wins the Republican Primary to face Bill Nelson in November!
This allows second and third tier elected officials and other pols in many different states to get their names into the media, get into the spotlight, take bows, issue statements, raise some money and generally get their persona out there in public as someone who is really to be saluted and remembered because they're "being seriously considered for the Vice-Presidential spot on the upcoming ballot".
This phenomenom happens as regularly as the monsoon season in the tropics. You can bet every state is experiencing this age-old political routine as more than a few favorite congressmen, governors or mayors are being touted as "Veep material" on local TV and in area newspapers.
In short, many are ostensibly "called", but only one is chosen. It's all part of the game...but rather a nice game.
BTW, the Bilirakis' are an outstanding American family, conservative to the core, never any scandal, just service. Gus's dad, Mike Bilirakis, was my congressman for many years. He was a close friend of one of my political compadres and mentors, Cong. Henry Hyde of Illinois, the renowned pro-life advocate and enthusiastic singer of Irish songs in a local pub where the pols were wont to drop in now and then.
These men, one retired, one passed away, along with today's candidate, young Bilirakis, are the kind of public servants rarely seen today. I'll be casting my conservative vote for Gus Bilirakis on election day....with the greatest of pride and pleasure.
Leni
Just received this info about Rep.Sandy Adams. Good action by Congresswoman Sandy Adams!
We are supporting Col. McCallister too.

Look at the first link below and see the states that are on the All Star List. The states in dark blue are those who have made great gains in making sure our military members are receiving their absentee ballots on time and able to cast their vote in elections. If you know folks who are living in states that are not on the list, let them know that they need to get active with their County Supervisor of elections to make sure all military members from your county receive information on time so they can cast their votes in our upcoming elections.
http://www.heroesvote.org/all-star-states/
Happy to say, our Sunshine State is on the All Star List!
Only 12 more days to our Florida Primary Election! Any interesting information you have about Primary candidates in your District would be great to post on this thread.
My hubby and I have chosen our favorites who will get our votes in our District 14 Primary. Wonder if anyone in our 26 other Districts have learned about the candidates running and have made their decision on who they are voting for?
As for the Senate Candidate Primary, we have the choices of Mack, McCalister, Stuart, or Weldon. My favorite, as I have mentioned previously is Mike McCalister. However, as I have also stated, I will give my full support to whomever wins the Republican Primary to face Bill Nelson in November!
WHO IS MORE CONSERVATIVE ON SOCIAL MORAL VALUES Of these two?
************ DISTRICT 14: (Republican Primary Winner faces Unopposed Incumbent DEM, Betty Castor)
Adams, Jr. Eddie (R) - Republican Primary Challenger http://adamsforcongress.org/
Otero, Evelio EJ (R) - Republican Primary Challenger http://ejoteroforcongress.com/ ************
from Mr. Adams website:
...Family Values I believe that we, as a nation, must never forget that our rights come from God Almighty, and that the Judeo-Christian values that have sustained humanity for millennia; marriage between a man and a woman, respect for life, and a common sense of right and wrong, should be reflected in our government....
Mr. Otero, does not even mention these issues..
I will vote for Mr. Adams.
Voting for McCalister in the Primaries, but I think we all know that Mack’s gonna win.
Did anyone else hear the latest “bash” against Mack by Nelson? He’s accusing him of promoting the Hooters restaurant chain and being an abusive drunk.
My question: why is Nelson lambasting someone for promoting a business that got its start in the Tampa Bay area, and why does it matter that Mack’s a boozer? An overwhelming majority of politicians are alcoholics.
James and I are voting for Otero and will do so with great pride!
We were in Bill Young’s district, but now have the chance to help get rid of Betty Castor! That will be fun and oh how I want to see Florida’s 6 REMAINING members of the US House voted out of office!!
I attended the FL Congressional dist 23 debate tonight and got some important info. Anyone who is in state house dist 100 can vote in the dem primary as there are no write ins or pubbies in the race so in reality the election IS the primary. This give us an opportunity in a unique race as turnout is going to poor on the dem side. Sheldon Lisbon was presented to us a fairly centrist dem

Getting Election Ready
Friends,
It is absolutely critical that our military voters request their absentee ballots now.
If you have active duty friends or loved ones, please forward this email to them immediately. They can register to vote and request an absentee ballot here.
http://www.heroesvote.org/election-ready/ It only takes a few minutes!
Many states have recently changed their election laws to eliminate ballot requests from previous elections. If there is any uncertainty, it is better to be safe than sorry. Request one now.
Thanks again for your support and assistance.
Sincerely,

Dan Fanelli
for Orange County Supervisor of Elections
Dear Fellow Motivated Voters, Friends, and Supporters,
Time to rally the troops for our next Orange County Supervisor of Elections!
“Early Voting” is going on now, and what a Great opportunity to Wave Signs
and get Dan Fanelli’s name in the public eye.
Do you have time to join us to wave signs at the “Early Voter” location nearest you,
... or place signs in high-visibility owner-approved yards?
If so please, contact us at our campaign email address: fanelli@ocfordan.com
so we know who can help and when they are available.
A 2-hour shift is normal, but any amount of time will be appreciated.
Let us hear from you soon because “Early Voting” ends Saturday at 7pm (Early Voting hours: 10am to 7pm). Also, we are looking for volunteers to signup and hold yard signs on Aug 14th, so that the Primary Election Day voters will be familiar with Dan Fanelli’s name, ... and remember him at the General Election on Nov 6th.
Since there are only 10 Early Voting locations (open 10am-7pm), it is much easier to cover these locations this week, than the many polling places open throughout the county that we will try to cover on August 14th (open 7am-7pm)... and also on November 6th.
For the “Early Voting” locations open now through Saturday, please select a convenient location from the list below:
Alafaya Branch Library
Apopka Community center & VFW
Orlando Public Library
South Creek Branch Library
Southeast Branch Library
Southwest Branch Library
Supervisor of Elections Office
Washington Park Branch Library
West Oaks Branch Library

FLORIDA FREEPERS,
For those of us in Florida who do not visit our Florida FR Board, I had started this thread a while back. Some FL Freepers are now asking for suggestions as to whom to vote for in their Primary districts, and posting on the FR Florida board. I have asked those Freepers to post on this thread so more Florida Freepers might see their questions and reply before Tuesday.
Please check this thread over the weekend to see if someone might be looking for info concerning candidates in your particular district. Thanks!
For those Forida voters who might not have checked your county Supervisor Of Elections websites!
Your Congressional District may have changed. That could also mean your voting Precinct may have also changed. My Congressional District changed from District 10 to District 14, but just so happens my voting Precinct did not change.
Be sure to check your Congressional District at this site.
Click on your county which will take you to your County Supervisor of Elections website. Then find your sample ballot, possible District changes, and Precinct location by putting in your address. It will then lead you to any changes and give you a copy of your ballot as it will appear when you go to vote on Tuesday. Here is the link:
http://election.dos.state.fl.us/SOE/supervisor_elections.asp
Any Pinellas county FReepers with a line on the Gualtieri/Rice sheriff’s race? TEA Party support Gualtieri (incumbent), but NRA supports Rice.
I’m inclined toward Rice, personally.

I would like to be added. Thanks
Property Appraiser.....Price or Wells
Supt. Schools......Benson, Browning or Fiorentino
County Commissioner Dist. 1......Oakley, O'Connor or Schrader
County Commissioner Dist. 3......Evans, Gregg, Griffin, King or Starkey
County Judge, Group 2......Grey, Hanlon, Poblick or Vergos
School Bd. Member Dist. 2......Hurley or Stephenson
I have a substantial number of neighbors and friends who are awaiting my recommendations. I was up north for almost two years due to illness in my family.....and I have absolutely little to no knowledge of these more local candidates.
Thanks, Leni/MinuteGal
