SANTIAGO CANYON Local activists jumped to their feet and applauded actress Daryl Hannah's call for a paradigm shift away from the consumption of fossil fuels, putting a stop to mountaintop removal and stopping the Keystone XL pipeline.
"We can't live without our water, soil, air and biodiversity," Hannah said. "We need to get off our butts and do it. We need to get together and realize we're on the same team whether we're blue or red, Democrat or Republican. We want to live. It's about loving something and protecting it."
The Hollywood actress, known for protesting against mountaintop removal in the coal mining industry, fighting human trafficking, speaking out against environmental toxins and recently arrested in front of the White House for opposing the Keystone XL pipeline, was the keynote speaker Saturday night at the 8th annual Tree Huggers Ball.

Someone should question Ms. Hannah how it is that she can circle the globe advocating for ‘action’ against those she deems are threatening the environment whilst working in an industry and living in an area that consumes much in the way of resources. I’m not a tree hugger by any means but if she were to completely quit her job, live off the grid and grow her own, I’d have some respect for her. Until then, she’s a typical FOS Hollywood elitist.

Actors. They earn their money in a make-believe world. They see reality as a make believe world. No wonder they are all liberals. They are all dellusional people who can only deal with make believe. They can’t handle reality so they turn it off and embrace the Magic Kingdom of make believe, dreams, wishes, skittles and unicorns.
