Leigh Anne O'Connor, a lactation consultant in New York, is anxiously awaiting the Supreme Court's decision on President Barack Obama's health overhaul.
She is worried that if the court strikes down the law, it would wipe out a provision requiring larger employers to give women time and a private space to pump breast milk.

Other groups are worried they will lose valued perks if the court strikes down the law. La Leche League International, a breast-feeding advocacy organization, said losing the nursing mothers' provision would set back its cause. "A lot of times the laws shape the culture, and one of the biggest challenges to breast feeding is culture," said Ms. O'Connor, who also is a spokeswoman for the group.
Doug Roll, mayor of Libby, Mont., estimates that hundreds of residents in his small town were able to enroll in Medicare thanks to a provision added to the law that allowed certain victims of environmental health hazards onto the program before age 65. A now-defunct vermiculite mine near the town exposed residents to asbestos.
After Mr. Obama signed the health overhaul in March 2010, federal officials quickly set up shop in Libby and began signing up residents for Medicare, Mr. Roll said. He signed up and said that switching from his private insurance cut his insurance costs by more than half.

And who knew about the early Medicare clause for those near environmental health hazards, which is reminiscent of the early retirement clause in Greece for those who work with chemicals. Like Greece, where this expandera to included hairdressers, how long will it take before more and more people sue for early Medicare?
And where was it previously reported an army of HHS employees flew into Libby Montana to help sign up the masses for Medicare?
Lots of handouts started....”You mean I will lose my ...?”
These people fear being cut off from the federal beast and his money tree. “Free free free for me” seems to be the mantra of those content to be enslaved.
These big gubmint lactation consultants suck.

Nursing is a natural thing and a career woman can’t nurse (because nursing requires having the baby with you 24/7). Just like a homosexual man can’t have a baby no matter who he pretends to marry.
Well I’m a pretty easy going boss most of my employee’s have been with me 10 plus years with two just over 15. When family is concerned it gets top priority hell I’ve even helped them with the problems, but I’ll be damned if anybodys going to force me to do something I choose not to. If you want to pray 5 times a day then do it on your own time, if you want to pump breast milk then do it on your own time. I will not furnish you the time nor will I furnish you the place.
So,as usual the liberals are milking the mother/child angle. Anyone who has kept abreast of the news recently could see this coming.
Since neither of my kids would properly latch I ended up exclusively pumping. After awkward, yet polite, emails to my principal the issue was handled. He very kindly scheduled my planning period next to my lunch period. Problem solved without obamacare, LLL, or NEA interference! Also, the LLL can kiss my sweet butt. They are nursing nazis! Apparently I’m a bad mom for pumping instead of direct mother to child nursing. These idiots don’t realize what this pumping requirement will do to female employment. Who are employers going to hire?
Well, that's certainly worth destroying the republic!
Jeez lady, here's a @#%$ straw...
Do they take it home to make cheese, because it would sure as heck be spoiled?
Oh good grief.
We have this wonderful new invention. It’s called a “refrigerator.” You should look into it.
And don't say they could all share one, because an employer would open themselves up to massive lawsuits if any of it was tampered with.
How will that work for non-office type jobs?
Sheesh. Now we not only have to step over all the dead bodies that couldn’t get health care, we have to avert our eyes while someone is pumping milk on the street.
(BTW, do all womyn do this all the time or is it just some small percentage of womyn for some short length of time?)
How did breastfeeding mothers do anything like take the Mass bar exam, for example, before Obamacare?
Not to mention...there’s always the office pilferer that raids the company fridge and steals other people’s food.
“ALRIGHT! Who stole the pint of breast milk I had in the fridge? I just pumped it an hour ago. JOHN! JOHN! Has anybody seen John?”
I wonder how it will work for the road construction flag ladies?
One thing it would do is get people to SLOOOOOW down!
I suppose a woman could pump breast milk on her lunch break or ten minute break, right? Couldn’t she easily do that in a restroom? As an employer what do you think of that concept?
Having a lactation room sounds silly to me.
You know, I’m about to say something that might make a lot of people mad.
As a woman, I certainly appreciate that companies are required to give maternity leave and all of that, but something about the notion has always bothered me.
I always think: What about the company? They are being forced to pay someone for no work. They are told they still have to hire women. They are threatened with discrimination lawsuits if they don’t. How is that fair to employers? Doesn’t it make an employer more likely to struggle?
Likewise with women’s health premiums being higher. It makes perfect sense to me. Does it stink? Yes, but it is fair! It’s reasonable that someone who gets pregnant is going to need more doctor visits than someone who can’t, so that person is going to pay more. That’s not discrimination, it’s reality. I think it is more unfair to give women a break but not men, too.
All of this started with the disbandment of the traditional family. I think a woman should be able to work, but the notion of single motherhood and demonizing the notion of a woman relying on a man to support her has brought about this ridiculously illogical idea of special treatment for women. In my mind, when I am pregnant my husband will support me. That’s what families do. But now families and traditional roles are seen as bad.
Feminists created the problem of needing paid maternity leave by insisting that marriage is slavery or something.
Stupid womyn.

It was not an overhaul, but a naked nationalization of 1/6 of the American Economy.
The Regulate-Control-Destroy Express continues to roar through Obamanation.
