Issa's Right: Tougher Gun Laws Fast And Furious Goal

Scandal: The head of the House oversight panel suggests the real reason for the administration's invoking executive privilege in the Fast and Furious case is to hide proof that the operation was part of a push for gun control.

Defenders of President Obama's use of executive privilege to provide cover for Attorney General Eric Holder in the gun-running fiasco that resulted in the deaths of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE Agent Jaime Zapata may dismiss it as just another conspiracy theory. But the suggestion by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., that the deadly operation was conceived to advance the administration's gun-control agenda is quite plausible.

"Here's the real answer as to gun control," Issa said on ABC's "This Week": "We have email from people involved in this that are talking about using what they're finding here to support the — basically assault weapons — ban or greater reporting."

Issa was asked about the possible connection after comments he made at an NRA convention. "Could it be," he said on NRA News' "Cam & Company" program, "that what they really were thinking of was in fact to use this walking of guns in order to promote an assault weapons ban? Many think so. And they haven't come up with an explanation that would cause any of us not to agree."

Perhaps the answer is in the documents that Holder and Obama are risking much to hide. As we observed recently, the way Fast and Furious, the government's gun-running operation, was executed made no sense unless its intended purpose was to facilitate violence with U.S. weapons in the interests of pursuing the administration's gun-control agenda.

Something else to consider is money. Maybe all the guns went to the SAME CARTEL with the goal of enabling that cartel’s business and power, in return for traceless cash and dope...

All of the Arizona guns did go to one cartel -- the Sinaloa cartel.

Consequently, your conjecture is something that needs to be taken seriously.

I think one of the things being hidden is either Obama or Holder making a statement that no gun control would be possible unless a few Americans die, because the public wouldn’t get angry until then. I think they welcomed these border murders.

Makes one wonder how many other Obama-orchestrated secret operations are underway in order to change policy through public outrage? With lefties the ends always justifies the means regardless of how many laws are broken or how many people die in the process.

Help me out here. About 2 years ago the marxists were crying about all the guns illegally coming from the US to Mexico. (A big lie, of course) The media had a cute term for it ‘River of Steel’ or something similar. I’ve been searching the web for stories about the topic but can find nothing.

Does anyone remember the media term? Seems that info and statements by pols at the time may have been scrubbed.

It is not just Obama. I suspect that there have been dozens of operations over Democratic administrations since Wilson, that have been covered up with the assistance of the MSM.

I think they more than welcomed these murders, I think they orchestrated the murder of Border Patrol agents. Brian Terry just happened to be the one who was in the wrong place at the right time.

God help us if I am right. ...

Methinks I'll add the keywords, "Operation Castaway," to let Hillary know that we know she is up to her cankles in this whole mess.

It has also been posited that Obama wanted to cause Mexico to slide into civil war. Then any Mexicans who came across the border would automatically be a refugee and could immediately go on the government dole and be relocated.

While I had considered this possibility from the perspective of increasing the flood of illegals, I had not included this idea of "refugee status" with which to legalize it.

This means the pubbies could build a fence and they'd still come flooding in under that "legal" cover. Thanks, I hadn't thought of that.

Sort of like how we’ll fund and supply “freedom fighters” in Nicaragua or Ivory Coast, except that this is a criminal gang.

They wouldn’t even have to sneak in. They would walk right up to the border crossing and walk across.

With a horde of affirmative action Dream Act lawyers to guide their way into taking full advantage of the welfare state.
