Scott Walker has more political capital than any Republican in America after surviving this month's recall election. Now he intends to spend it.
The Wisconsin governor, who does not rule out running for president in 2016 after winning his June recall election, wants to help elect as many GOP candidates as possible in 2012. He's told Mitt Romney's campaign that he will travel anywhere the presidential candidate thinks he can help.
But the post-recall Walker, only 44, does intend to speak out more on substantive issues.
"I'd like now and into the future to play a bigger role not only in Wisconsin and the Midwest, but nationally," he said. "I'd like to have an impact."

I'd vote it. But, I expect the "advisers" will deem it too polarizing. 2016 does sound likely.
Sorry! If Walker wants a National role then that means that he is overly ambitious and not wanted by the people but he wants the people to want him.
I’m really sick and tired of politicians thinking that they are what is good for America. Either produce and tell me why or go away.
I really hate all the publicity that politicians get when doing the right thing (seems that it is usually by accident anyway). Hell, we elected them to do the right thing - why can’t they be normal people and just let it go at that. If they are worthy of higher office, we will let them know.
Yes, I like Walker and what he has done for Wisconsin, but really, what makes you think that he won’t change when elected in a different state.
I see politicians as weak reflections of ourselves and it is not pretty. We are all so convoluted that we actually think that government is good...geez.
Walker is a rising star, but he needs to finish what he started in Wisconsin. He will be a player in the future.
I agree with the majority of talking heads and pundits.... I think it will be Rubio for many reasons.
Please do not run yet.....Let the guy finish one term. We have a candidate that has 4 years as Governor and that is it....more experience please. Let him run after two terms as governor. He is not nearly done in Wisconsin. Plus I would rather not have him be part of a liberal administration like Romney’s.
Absolutely right! Let him continue his run, let him win on the merits, and if Wisconsin agrees, then it is probable that America agrees.
He does have to win on his merits, not the media nor the Republican Parties advice.
Give him a chance - you getcha! He is going in the right direction and we will see just how he sustains his voting rights.

While under the radar, he has authored incredible reforms in Louisiana, and by the time he wants to play a national role, he will be drafted to do so, instead of him leading the charge, all due to a solid, long term record.
I only wish he were at the head of our ticket.

If Romney will fire his etch-a-sketch advisors AND listen to Walker, maybe, just maybe Romney won’t be DUMPED by the ABSTAIN first Ballot in Tampa.

That’s why I like Jindal much better. Here’s a no-nonsense governor who puts his nose to the grindstone year in and year out. While under the radar, he has authored incredible reforms in Louisiana, and by the time he wants to play a national role, he will be drafted to do so, instead of him leading the charge, all due to a solid, long term record.
I don’t expect Walker to pursue much beyond Wisconsin. And that’s okay.
What we know of Walker, is good; albeit, he was just doing his job. Let’s not request that he be considered for Sainthood just yet. Let’s observe the guy for the next four years and see if he is, in fact, a man of mettle. (Yes, I spelled “mettle” correctly.) He is just 44 years old. Let’s be “slow to speak and swift to hear” where the Governor is concerned. We’ve got time. And, there are other fine young men ready for the national spotlight, who have been more thoroughly vetted. Let’s all just chill. Haste makes waste.

Scott Walker, when he finishes what he started, will be as much a “Rock Star” as a politician and can pretty much go where ever he wants. See “finishes what he started”...
Walker has my support.
No matter how outstanding Walker is, he doesn’t have “presidential hair”, and when it comes down to it, whether people want to admit it or not, that’s the number one requirement for the office. Or being black.
