Pastor whose congregation dwindled after gay-marriage vote to close St. Paul church

Grace Community United Church of Christ will close its doors this weekend, but the pastor who says his decision to publicly support gay-marriage rights unwittingly thrust it on a path toward financial ruin plans to find a new home for his small congregation.

He has faith that his flock will follow.

The Rev. Oliver White, 69, had hoped fundraising would keep the predominantly African-American church on St. Paul's East Side open after a Seattle investor demanded full payment on a high-interest loan.

But after a well-publicized Internet campaign raised only about $56,000 of the $200,000 the church needs to pay off its debt, White has decided to call it quits.

The ‘logic’ of the liberal ‘christian’...

“I lost most of my flock and my church over my decision to promote that which the Bible tells me not to, therefore God approves of my actions and wants me to keep doing it.”

Such ‘logic’ is why I and many others have forgone organized religion and made our faith a bit more ‘personal’.

Most of his former congregation understand what is heresy; whereas the foolish pastor does not.

I hope the IRS does to him on Earth as the Devil will do to him in hell.

Bump to your logic.

This guy is black, runs a black church, favors faggots getting married and cannot understand why his congregation is shrinking? Hello? Rev. White, get a clue!

Hopefully he will tire of beating his head against the wall.

all churches, all organizations (other than government)need to understand that unhappy members respond with their feet and their wallet.

Liberal churches throughout the land are losing people and dollars in large amounts. Their national leadership is leading them into oblivion - and Jesus weeps.

Actually I think it’s sad. I’ve never seen such a lack of comprehension of Scripture as some of those people have. They tout the old “Judge not” maxim (which is nowhere in the Bible, by the way) — and have no clue the actual verse commands us not to be hypocrites: “Judge according to the measure by which you would be judged.” Quite different. The idea that if you don’t tell one to go live in their sin that you are somehow “hating” that person is an old Satanic lie. Sadly, many are buying it hook line and sinker. I think when they come face to face with the Almighty they won’t be quite so quick to own up to their mistaken views of Him and His Word.

I guess to some, God’s grace has now become an insurance policy for sin.

Begin Rant/

For years the faith community has mirrored the secular in many ways. Primarily in that they are sheep that sit back and let their ‘shepards’ run roughshod with no adherence to their respective laws...AKA the Constitution or Bible.

I cannot count the number of articles I have read about Dems/Libs holding meetings/seminars/indoctrination gatherings with clergy from all denominations. These events are nothing more than Libs pushing their agenda.

So the clergy, newly ‘evangelized’ and likely threatened with the IRS, returns to their respective flock with a new and more ‘tolerant’ attitude toward ‘social justice’, homosexuality and all the rest of lib wants and desires. The actual purpose of their existence (to teach the Bible and guide the faithful to a more righteous life) is now void.

But most/no one cares because they do their time in the pews and feel good about ‘doing their duty’. What is said from the pulpit is of little consequence for 75% or more of the people in the congregation.

And those who complain are then branded heretics etc. Dis invited from social events and generally made outcast. Their refuge from secular America is thus stripped from them. They have nowhere else to turn. Their very faith is telling them they are bad people for following it.

And so many turn away at the hypocrisy they see.

And the Democrats/Liberals wreck yet another powerbase of the Right/faithful/conservative America.

The Televangelist/con-men have long done this and profited handsomly. The Dems finally caught up and now run most churches like the Jimmy Swaggart TV show. As Swaggart/Roberts/Bakker and the rest said one thing and did another, so too do the Dems in Religion. And the sheep just graze on the soma.

Until the Pope and other denominational leadership get off their high-holy buttox and follow their own faith, reigning in these idiot pastors and other mouthpieces (much like the GOP and their adherence to the party platform needs to) AND HOLD THEM FULLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ANTI CHRISTIAN TEACHINGS, we are hosed. Period.

/End Rant
