Arrest Eric Holder
The American Thinker ^ | July 2, 2012 | Selwyn Duke

Posted on 07/02/2012 12:54:14 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

...........One reason we have as much bad behavior as we do among pseudo-elites is the same reason why child misbehavior is now rampant....If powerful public officials knew they could be marched away in handcuffs to a fetid jail cell, perhaps they'd take their oaths of office more seriously.

....Do you want to see a day when the police stop you for imaginary infractions that can be "adjudicated" on the spot for some not-so-imaginary cash? Then keep tolerating corruption in high places. For not only does it reflect corruption in low ones-most notably, the hearts and minds of the voters -- but it's also contagious. Lower level officials see it in higher ones, and they want a piece of the pie, too. And the citizenry will figure likewise...

...I realize there are many reasons why Holder won't be arrested. For one thing, such a move would be demonized by the media and might redound negatively upon Republicans in the fall. Another is that few members of the ruling class want to animate a hangman that could be used (perhaps wrongly) against them in the future; once the mutual get-out-of-jail-free card is gone, it's gone....But what does this beget? It begets a Justice John Roberts, who -- likely motivated by concern for the U.S. Extreme Court's reputation, his own, or both -- visited a blatantly unconstitutional and disastrous piece of legislation upon all of us.

And that is the face of expediency. It's like the Machiavellian leper character in the film Braveheart, who claimed that the ability to compromise -- even with great principles at stake -- makes a man noble. But it does not, and creating de facto nobility existing above the law makes a nation quite ignoble. Respect for station is no substitute for respect for rule of law.

More like a dream sheet.

I’ll believe it when I see arrests made.

Are we starting an arrest list?

I'm sure the White House/Justice Department is starting a pardon list.

The important message of this article is its emphasis on what tolerating criminal behavior does to a country.

And for this our forefathers risked life and wealth? Imagine if they were as reluctant as we today are, there would have been no Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence, there would have been no Lincoln to free the slaves and fight a bloody civil war and no Reagan to give us real hope.

Why couldn’t they have just been silent and let us live peacefully with the Queen as our leader?/s

RE :”Arrest Eric Holder

They wont. Just as I said before the vote, nothing will happen now.

Did you notice that right after this vote the House passed that big $$$ highway bill and student loan extension deal with Obama? And that one will actually go into law.

It fits the pattern : A symbolic vote that goes no-where to distract conservatives and then the real bill that spends the $$$ with Obama that goes into law.

...speaking of arrest, what’s the latest on Corzine?. I suspect he’ll be pardoned also.

It will be a very, very, very long pardon list.

I imagine the applications are arriving at the WH and Justice Department daily — along with large checks.

I began to think over a year ago that it’s all a mirage, a smoke screen, for massive thief. No accountability plus no consequence equals the result we have.....when you can waste trillions stealing several hundred billion is easy.

I lived in Corpus Christi in the 80’s.

Corruption was rampant from top to bottom.

Police would stop you for imaginary crimes and demand money.

Assistant District Attorney threatened my life.

Police tried to take me out one night.

I got lucky, but the cops totaled one of their cop cars.

You couldn't have said it better, it's spot on.

Trust me, you do not want to live like that.

That sounds like LA/New Orleans before Gov. Jindal.

Urban democrat strongholds always breed, tolerate and promote criminal activity to line their pockets.

You can't have corruption at the bottom without corruption at the top.

Glad to hear Jindal is putting a stop to it.

That's what was behind Reno's firing of the US Attorneys in 1993.

It was mainly to cover up Bill Clinton's corruption while gov or Arkansas (Clinton was sued by DoJ for ordering his state troopers to racial profile, he had agreed to stop but the didn't), but it was also to cover up the corruption of the mostly dem controlled city governments.

Left wingers are the ones that scream the loudest about police abuse and corruption, but they are too ignorant to know the cover up goes to the top, to the very people they keep voting into office.

Remember the 80’s in Corpus well and you are right about the corruption. Stayed clear as much as possible. I was going to college in Kingsville in the late 70’s and CC was the place to visit for a while.

Like your handle. Surprised there is anything left of you..... Seem to find you always on the shelf though. Mixed with the proper back end and front end, you tha man....

It’s what I’ve been saying for many, many months: Get the Capitol police and lead the bum away in handcuffs. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, ISSA????

I understand the the only jail that could be used for this action was closed long ago.
But it would be an interesting confrontation between a couple of Capital police - if they would obey - and the federal agents guarding Holder...

Arrests should be made on the day after the election when a new president has been declared. Nice way to begin. Maybe delaying the prosecution and convictions a plan to prevent zero from pardoning his criminal friends on his way out

It’s getting to the point where one side WILL show it’s power by arresting one of their leaders. You can bet our side won’t be the first to do it though and when the Commies arrest one of ours, our guys will wail and gnash their teeth and claim it’s all part of the system. Precedent will be set for arresting dissenters and our voices will be permanently silenced. Sheriff Pelosi may throw Boehner in Karl Rove’s old cell.

I'm sure the White House/Justice Department is starting a pardon list.

That assumes the WH is inclined to do so.

I'm sure Issa intends his considerable efforts will not go to waste. ...which means he won't stop at Holder.

It’s a game of chess where the loser rots in prison.
Don’t be hasty.
