Set Your Flag - In Distress
Wuli | 06/03/2012 | Wuli

Posted on 07/03/2012 11:24:32 AM PDT by Wuli

I am setting my front porch flag upside down tomorrow.

I will leave it up and set that way, through November.

Setting the flag right will depend on whether or not we move to setting the ship of state right.

You DO NOT FLY THE US FLAG UPSIDE DOWN FOR EMOTIONAL ISSUES

Thank you sir for your comment. I agree 100%.

It is disrespectful and wrong. My neighbor down the street did this until low and behold Scott Brown was elected and suddenly the "crisis" was over.

If you fly our proud flag upside down over politics, you are being childish. Fly other flags if you wish, but do not disrespect the banner I fought under.

I’ve been unable to determine the significance of the “III” on the flag.

Would you please explain?

I need one like this:

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

What is the protocol for flying the Gadsden Flag?
Does it have to be lit at night?
Does it have to be on a flagpole?
Can it be thumb tacked to the house siding?

OK. Do not fly the Stars and Stripes in a distress mode. A better choice would be to fly the Gadsden or Sons of Liberty flag instead. There are several other good choices as well. Several other FReepers have noted that.

I am on a tablet and typing is difficult.

I apologize if it was difficult to understand.

I’d be kinda scared to fly this one, unless, it was tied with bacon strips. It looks too mooslim-ish.

While I appreciate your sentiment, personally, I don’t think the dissolution of our constitutional republic is simply an “emotional issue.” It’s not a temper tantrum over a candidate.

I had mine upside down the day BO was elected and it stayed that way for several months.

The day SCOTUS ruled.. it went upside down at noon that day but only stayed that way for a few days.

Country’s in distress no doubt but I’ve got to much respect for the flag that represents the country I served for.. not what the country’s become.

I may retire Old Glory until real Americans can restore the country to what it was and fly the Gadsden Flag until then.

I don’t fly the US fly anymore. I fly the Texas flag, and dream that it is the Republic of Texas, and not the Great State of Texas. I’ve said it many times before, I want a divorce. Entering the Union was not a suicide pack. I would prefer an amicable divorce - divide up the property, sign the papers and go our separate ways.

Gadsden flag for me. Many vets consider it an offense to the flag to invert it unless a true distress situation.

Thanks for clearing that for me. The first “or” in that sentence threw me off.

Thank you for posting even when it’s difficult for you. :)

So to your line of thinking it was perfectly fine for democrats to fly The Stars and Stripes in distress mode when they believed the country was being destroyed?

Get hold of your emotions!

You do have the right to fly the flag inverted however it is in very poor taste, insulting and weakens the intent of distress mode communication!
