Poll: Romney Claims Slight Edge in 15 'Battleground' States
National Journal ^ | July 3, 2012 | Steven Shepard

President Obama remains marginally ahead of Mitt Romney in a new national CNN/ORC International poll released on Monday, although Romney leads Obama in the 15 states identified by the network as battleground states.

Obama leads Romney nationally, 49 percent to 46 percent, with 4 percent of those surveyed saying they would vote for another candidate or neither candidate. That is inside the poll's margin of error, and it is identical to the 49 percent to 46 percent lead Obama had in the previous poll, conducted in late May. It is also similar to the latest Gallup tracking poll, which shows Obama leading Romney by 5 percentage points, the president's high-water mark from a survey house that has been less favorable to him thus far during the campaign. That lead among registered voters is Obama's largest in Gallup since April.

And to think...these polls all skew towards Democrats, not to mention the people who either say they're for Obama because they're afraid of being called racists or because they like to mess with the pollsters.

If Romney truly comes up and says he's totally against the Obamatax and makes a commitment to eradicating it the first day he's in office, then I see a 60-40 landslide. Even if he keeps up the doubletalk and equivocation, I still see him winning a 5-6 point victory. There's tons of people out there who voted for Obama in 2008 who won't in 2012, but NOBODY who voted for McCain who'll decide to vote for Obama this time around.

And if the GOP takes it all?

More of what happened last time, TARP #1, No Child Left Behind, 2 wars, the TSA, Unfunded pill giveaway, Chief Justice JOHN ROBERTS...All Republican crap.

I quit trusting the Democrats a long time ago, now I have given up on the Republicans too.

Heads or Tails, we lose.

We have 5 months left to determine who the better socialist hack is.

Plenty of time for the numbers to change considerably.

First time I heard an 8 point lead called “slight.”

If I recall, Obama’s 2008 7 point win was called a “landslide.” Odd how that works.

An 8 point lead is a super landslide, but only in the mainstream media is that a slight lead. Talk about blatant bias!

Well, I have said for two months that Romney COULD have nearly a landslide. I don’t think without carrying IL, NY, and CA you can get the appropriate numbers for a genuine “landslide,” but I think Romney can, this time around, carry IA, CO, NM, OH, WI, MI, KY, MO, VA, NC, NV, maybe NM and NH which would put him close.

You can safely add three points to Romney's numbers and subtract three points from Ubama's numbers in any given poll. The fact that they have Romney ahead at all means that he is so far ahead that they can't safely hide it.

Wow, that is a very terrible thing to say.

And you appear to have the same problem, loser syndrome, they accept 2nd best.

You play first, I’ll wait and see your results.

Texas?

What’s Texas done to stop abortion or the flow of illegals?

The largest city in the US with a gay Mayor is Houston.

Texas is California 2.

AZ - now they fight.
