I cant smoke anywhere at work any more, not even in my car in the parking lot.
So I put in an extra hour a day to cover time that I leave the facility for smoke breaks.
Then some ***hole doesn’t like that, and they do a time card audit on me trying to screw me just because I smoke.

I could go to the moon to smoke and some ***hole would complain.

Nice spin their Hanson. No doubt another Nany-State, leftist Bureaucrat who has never held a real job in his life and knows 0 about the restaurant business.

Seriously? Hansen is an employee of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association which knows the restaurant business inside and out. He speaks for the 5,000 members of the Association.

Hansen is an employee of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association which knows the restaurant business inside and out.

Not necessarily on a first hand basis. I was an employee of and spokesperson for a state Funeral Directors' organization, I was not then or at any time in my lie a Funeral Director.

He speaks for the 5,000 members of the Association.

Once again, not necessarily. The spokesperson for the Delaware Restaurant Association claimed to speak for all of the bars and restaurants in Delaware at the time of the battle over the smoking ban - yet less than 10% of the restaurants in the state belonged - she was actually only speaking for the 2 largest members who happened to be fast food franchise holders. They actually lost membership over the stand in favor of the ban and was offering free lifetime memberships to any owner that would stop vocally opposing it.

So get over yourself - you are just another big government loving liberal and you should open your eyes to the fact it is well known on this site about your statist leanings and hatred of private property rights.

You win and I stand corrected.

These directors of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association are all tools dedicated to destroying their industry and their members bottom line. They hate profits and success. They know squat about the trade and seek only to advance a smoking ban. Not only do they seek to bring ruin to their own members, they seek to cause havoc in all restaurants in the state and to share misery / bankruptcy for all.

Your reading comprehensions skills rival those of a first grader.

All I said what your comment was not necessarily so, and explained by using the example of what went on in Delaware - of which I have first hand knowledge - something you obviously lack.

Sure. You were using antidote/innuendo/misdirection to de-legitimize the views of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.

My circle of friends and acquaintances figured this out fairly early in the game.

We acquired restaurant-quality(or better) cooking, serving and dinnerware equipment; developed sources for superior raw materials and improved our skills to a point that surpasses any restaurant or bar within a 500-mile radius or maybe larger.

We have all eschewed restaurants and bars for each others' homes. There is political discussion, as well as other subjects over fine food, fine drink, fine cigars, fine pipe tobacco and cigarettes - just like in the days of the original American Revolution; which may very well get repeated.

Sorry about your agenda, Drango - it has been defeated by independence and ingenuity.

Antidote? You are the only one that needs one of those - one against your liberal ideals.

You hate private property rights and you have openly admitted it on every one of the smoking threads you have posted upon over the years.

I don’t give a rat’s rear end about the views of the restaurant association as I know for fact how they operate having dealt with numerous ones over the course of the past 20 years.

When you have the same first hand experience in the bar/restaurant business as I do, then you come and tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about.

You are the only one with no clue because you are a walking talking statist and do not belong on a site that promotes private property rights.

That is what we did in Delaware. In Virginia we believe in private property rights and the restaurant owners make their own decision in regard to permitting smoking or not.

We can always tell a Drango-type when they walk into one of our favorite establishments, they immediately start the fake coughing and hand waving. The really obnoxious ones are usually asked to leave. One really obnoxious Drango-type actually refused to leave when asked by both the manager and the owner who are both women....... but he got real timid when one of the guys who was sitting at a corner table got up and asked him to leave - that guy is about 6’6” and didn’t even have to show his badge.

In Virginia we know how to deal with the Drangos of the world - their statist, liberal ways are unwanted. Although I do sort of feel sorry for them, as they are all apparently illiterate because they are unable to read the signs that clearly state smoking is permitted.

Hmmmmm... Who to believe? Tough one.

An association reporting the empirical evidence of their members.
-OR-
An addict saying the restaurant association is cooking the books.

OK. You win. You have more credibility than the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. They are tools.

An addict? You don’t know me (thank goodness) so who are you to call me names? Calling you a statist is not name calling, you have admitted it openly.

I think you need to take a refresher on the rules around here regarding personal insults, newbie.

As i said earlier - restaurant associations are known to lie, nearly all of them have received huge influxes of cash from groups such as RWJF, pharmaceutical companies, and other statist groups pushing these bans. A group of Delaware restaurant owners, who were NOT members of that restaurant association proved their “empirical” evidence was nothing more than book cooking. The restaurant association LIED about business improving after the ban. What the restaurant association did was only take the numbers from bars and restaurants that had outdoor seating and also included take out business - which skyrocketed.

If you want to believe an organization being paid to promote propaganda, be my guest - I prefer to live my life based upon reality. Of course, I’m a conservative, not a big government loving statist.

yeah they ALWAYS lie (and that is what it is, a lie) when they pass a smoking ban. Every time the media runs around like a lunatic saying “See I told you so, no smoking and we are busier than ever”

Meanwhile when this started in California when I lived there, in my area, I watched bar and restaurant close one after one, never to re-open.

Its lying, social engineering, and flat out brainwashing when it comes to smoking/.

I could not imagine working in a place like that, I would be fired in a week just on principle alone. NO ONE tells me what I can do in my vehicle. Also, they would have a hard time tracking me down as I had to walk off property to smoke.

I dont play that game.
