I have interviewed some of the most successful Jews in the world, people who emerged from the Holocaust or started out with nothing and who today are on Forbes’ list of billionaires. There is an underlying theme to their success stories: They got out of bed, worked hard and pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps. Even Mayor Bloomberg recounted to me how in his youth he made money by parking cars and told me the trick to his success was merely getting up earlier and working harder than the next guy. Mark Cuban told me he started out selling garbage bags door to door. The Jews, the most persecuted people in history know one thing from their pan-generational sufferings: God helps those who help themselves.
If Barack Obama really cared for the black community more than he cares for himself he wouldn’t point to the rich to invoke class envy – he’d be pointing to them and say, “OK, let’s learn from their success and then do as they do.” Instead of demanding that the wealthy pay their fair share, he would demand that welfare recipients pull their own weight.
It’s amazing how President Obama is able to raise millions (potentially a billion) for his own campaign to secure his own job and yet he can’t raise one dime for this country or for black America, where the unemployment rate is at 14.4 percent. Back in 2008 he offered and glamorized hope and then in a treacherous bait-and-switch delivered food stamps instead. Is that pocket change you can believe in?

I was referring to their work/education ethic, which I thought was the thrust of this Thread, vis a vis, the lack of same in blacks.

Yes, but step #3 eludes most people who do a very good job on #1 and #2. As I understand it, Bloomberg's fortune grew out of an innovation that he came up with and developed. And Getty was born into a family that was already in the oil business. So intelligence, creativity, drive, and circumstances are some additional important factors that Bloomberg left out of his comment.
Blacks whine that they are unique in being obviously “different”, but I would argue that recent black African immigrants are no less “different” in appearance, yet the ones that come here with a work ethic do well.
People of Asian extraction from various places also are no less obviously NOT white, but that has not stopped them from succeeding.
Whitey isn’t keeping anyone down. Black America is its own worst enemy.

The creepy thing is Liberal Elites DON'T tell their own children the same. When it's their little white kids, they haul them around to ballet, soccer and tennis lessons. The enroll them in the best schools and teach their kids to compete. When 'suzy' comes home with a bad grade, they hire a tutor. It's really sick what they tell blacks... In England the liberal elites told the same lies to their underclass - resentment, grievances, irresponsibility etc - and their underclass is (for the most part) white.

They do.
They tell them that THEY only got ahead because of other liberals helping them by boosting them up and that those falling behind do so because of Reagan, Bush, the Tea Party....etc. They say that they want to help them all, but the evil racist ‘care only about the rich Republicans’ stop them
(this is where Romney really comes in handy for them.).
They also claim that the poor Republicans are just stupid and vote against ‘their own economic interests’ because the rich Republicans distract them by appealing to their racism.
Meanwhile you see who the Dems really take care of, the (government) teachers unions not the kids. But they claim both are the same in the long run.
