Palin says Rice's view on abortion shouldn't disqualify her as VP

“I think that Condoleezza Rice would be a wonderful vice president,” Palin told Fox News on Thursday night. She compared Rice's past experience favorably to that of Obama.

But Palin dismissed concerns over Rice's stance on the subject.

“I would certainly prefer a presidential and vice presidential candidate who had that respect for all innocent precious purposeful human life,” Palin said. “We need to remember, though, that it’s not the vice president that would legislate abortion and that would be Congress’s role, and we’ll keep that in mind.”

I wonder what she means by "purposeful" in this context.

My jaw hit the floor when I heard her using qualifiers like "purposeful" and "innocent" after all she's had to say about the threats to life contained in Obamacare. I know she was addressing Rice's proabort position, but she should have had better sense than to use the words she did. Very disappointing.

Sarah you are just cackling your way into insignificance. Go home to Alaska, shoot a moose, do some fishing, and regroup for a later day.

Try not to be so obtuse. I was responding to such posts as,

Social issues are not a deal-breaker for me either.

Or

Sarah is correct. While I disagree on the subject, I do not vote based on a single issue.

Only one left now is Jesus Christ himself

He'd be called a RINO by the third post.

LOL

They diss everyone and support no one.

I wish simply being a chronic malcontent were enough to move conservatism forward.

I’m really disappointed, Sarah. I don’t want a pro-choice woman on the ticket. I could have stayed a Democrat if I wanted something like that.

There is no reason to have a pro-choice candidate on the Republican ticket because people who are pro-choice and use this issue as their litmus test issue will not vote for Romney, no matter who is VP is. People who are pro-choice and do not use this as a litmus test (maybe Republicanse like Guiliani) were going to vote for Romney anyway.

This Condi thing is a huge waste of time.

Who???

Now there's a story about a completely irrelevant pair: Condi and the Grizzly Ma-ma.

Another news story about NOTHING.

OK, how about ‘Run-Sarah-Run” while we are debating irrelevant hypotheticals ???

I would prefer Condi Rice over Marco Rubio

I do not think we will get drive-in abortion clinics with Rice as VP.....but we will get Illegal Alien Amnesty if Rubio is the VP

Too many attacking Rice are pushing Rubio. Rice is liberal, but, she can actually help Romney win. Rubio is just a fantasy of the Hispanic Voter Myth....Mexicans, Puerto Ricans are not real fond of Cubans...and Rubio will keep away those voters

The GOP needs to get over their fetish of Illegal Aliens...no Rubio

Also if Rice voted for Obama, why would anyone want her as a candidate?

There's not a scintilla of substance to substantiate this "fact" that has been making the rounds of FR for years.

It's long past time to stop repeating it.

She has never revealed her vote. She has said she is a Republican and supports the Republican nominee.

How people have spun this into speculation and onward into "fact" says far more about them than it does Condi Rice.

Good God. A man who voted to confirm the judge who became Obama's first Supreme Court pick was the last great hope of some "conservatives' here. That's a fact, that's his record. It's indisputable. Rather than discuss such horrifying things of substance about actual candidates, too many engage in ridiculous speculation about a former Bush official's secret ballot vote, the revelation of which is no one's business.

The fact is, Rice is damned either way she may have cast her ballot: McCain or Obama (or maybe some other candidate, who knows).

Half the bigots will see a Rice vote for Obama as evidence of race over loyalty, partisanship, etc. The other half will see a Rice vote for McCain as a traitor to her kind and proof she's every vile thing they believed when she was part of W's administration.

At this moment in history, the only answer for a trained and talented diplomat, or anyone in public life (retired or not), is no answer.

We have been losing the war since 1973. The last count I had was something like 50 million dead babies. My point is that I could care less about what Sarah Palin has to say. She had the opportunity to become a leader and she chose to be another mouthpiece out there in TV land yapping away. We have enough mouthpieces with Rush, Hannity, and others. We need a leader and she backed away from that chance.

Palin’s brand is becoming diluted. She should have run for 2012. She would have wiped the floor with Romnitwit.
