Skelly drive is the nice south side of Tulsa. Decay is everywhere I guess even the nice side of Tulsa has probably changed too over the years.
It’s even worse than you think. The mall on 71st Street is “iffy” now. I wasn’t kidding when I said people might have to move to Glenpool or Owasso.
Commenters on the local newspaper story on this tragedy are pointing to nearby Section 8 housing as a source of problems in the area.
“Innocent bystander” — oh how I hate that term, especially in this situation where it appears the man in the store couldn’t even know he was a “bystander” since the incident was occurring outside the store. I can’t begin to imagine being a family member of the in-store victim.
