A teaching associate at a private school in Iowa has reportedly been fired for allegedly telling students that “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” is a “racist” novel.

Naiya Galloway, 31, was fired by Hillcrest Family Services, a privately run K-12 school that caters to students who have mental health issues or behavioral problems, The Des Moines Register reports.

Galloway has denied allegations that she questioned the school’s use of the book, but acknowledged she disrupted a classroom discussion of the Ku Klux Klan because it had triggered “flashbacks,” noting that she’s both black and Japanese, the newspaper reports.

That’s what you get in modern America. Instead of a multiplicity of correct answers, you get the doctrinaire leftist answer.

If only one of her students had responded to her rant with “Enola Gay” she might have been institutionalized rather than fired.

Same here. Discrimination against whites is rampant.

Mark Twain would be profoundly amused at a society in which certain people can call one another “nigger” or “nigga” all day long, while other people can lose their jobs for even mentioning the word’s usage.

Huck wrote a letter informing Miss Watson where her runaway slave could be found. Here's the crux of the "racist" book for the alleged teacher:

"I felt good and all washed clean of sin for the first time I had ever felt so in my life, and I knowed I could pray now. But I didn't do it straight off, but laid the paper down and set there thinking ...
...It was a close place. I took it up, and held it in my hand. I was a-trembling, because I'd got to decide, forever, betwixt two things, and I knowed it. I studied a minute, sort of holding my breath, and then says to myself:
'All right, then, I'll GO to hell' -- and tore it up."

Huck had been taught that helping a slave would cost him eternal damnation, but he did it anyway.

People in the county only know the type of racism that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton spew forth. All those dirtbags have to say is “That’s racist” and it is deemed racism.

“What type of flashbacks?
noting that she’s both black and Japanese”

Every December 7th she’d attack Pearl Bailey

Just yesterday, I was raading “A True Story, Repeated Word for Word As I Heard It”. I imagine she wouldn’t have liked that one either.

Is she saying she has PTSD caused by Huck Finn and the KKK? Don’t understand the whole flashback excuse in relation to her obviously uneducated opinion.

Maybe she had “flashbacks” to when she watched “Roots” on tv.

TV shows can cause odd behavior. "Roots" was aired while I was stationed in Alabama. Shortly thereafter, a co-worker (white) mentioned that his son was accosted at school by kids of "alternate ancestry" demanding to know why he did the things that were depicted. Thankfully, no physical harm was inflicted.

Flashbacks? 31 years old. What were the flashbacks, disco, Bee Gees, big hair?

She got fired for being an idiot.
If "Huck Finn" is racist then "Dr. Zhivago" is Marxist!

FINALLY! some sanity in the public school administration! These teachers have been poisoning our kids w/ their B.S. for far too long.

For all the talk of “nuance” libs like to pretend only they understand....they sure can’t grasp the nuance in Twain’s obvious character development.
