On Palin & her potential lack of an invitation to the GOP convention (Palin would scare moderates)
HotAir ^ | 07/17/2012 | Dustin Siggins

Yesterday morning Ed tagged a Newsweek article that tried to make hay out of the fact that Palin may not receive an invitation to speak at the GOP convention. Ed pointed out that this may not actually be a big deal, both to Palin and the grassroots, and I agree with comments made below the post by RBJ and Skwor that it’s likely just Newsweek trying to create controversy out of nothing substantive.

However, this is where RBJ, Skwor and a great deal of the Hot Air viewership and I may split our views. While I am not a fan of Mitt Romney’s candidacy, and think he is far too moderate in almost every way, I am not disappointed that Palin may not speak at the convention. In fact, I’m quite pleased.

[SNIP]

However, I think the negatives of such an appearance outweigh the net positives for those whose sole electoral goal is to get Obama out of office — including potentially scaring off moderate voters who are open to voting for Romney and giving the liberal media the opportunity to attach Romney to the largely unpopular Palin.

Lakeshark my ol’ pal, you go back and read the exchange of posts, specifically my #91, and tell me I am NOT walking with the angels here. The whole thrust of this argument is that Sarah Palin should be the keynote speaker or a prominent speaker at this convention and I have clearly stated the reasons why she will NOT be speaking, and those reasons were all highly complimentary to her.

Tell your buddy ‘editor-surveyor’ to give their head a shake and try reading with some basic 2nd grade comprehension and TRY, at least *TRY* to understand the difference between insulting Sarah Palin (which nobody did in this thread) and stating *why* she will probably not be invited to speak at this oh-so-glorious convention of liberal RINOs, ok?

Hope all is good with you.

” Yea, you and sicko flibs have been praising her to death for years - Rrrright! “

I don’t understand your last few comments.....they don’t seem at all relevant to....uh....not conducive to ...uh....

Non sequitur (literary device), an irrelevant, often humorous comment to a preceding topic or statement.

Non sequitur (logic), a logical fallacy where a stated conclusion is not supported by its premise.

Just trying to insert a bit of levity........

:-)

I read that Christie was to be the keynote speaker already, so it seems you are right.

That being said, I'll be surprised if Romney has not spoken to Palin already, and surprised if they haven't cut an agreement (or tried) as to her general role (or non-role) in the convention and the campaign.

If not, he's dumber than I thought.

Romney isn’t about to permit a superior speaker to show him up at his coronation. As I said before, I will be surprised if Sarah even ends up in the cheap ceiling seats at this liberal RINO-orgy.

RE :”You accuse ME of having ‘PDS’ when in fact my post #91 was highly supportive of Sarah Palin,

She can support herself, I am sure she is making more $$$ than any of us as a ‘political commentator’.
Like most cults the members characterize any criticism of themselves as criticisms of their cult idol to appear to validate their beliefs that it is all about crusifying the bigger than human hero-victim figure because they are really ‘truly the one’.

You see liberals are the only ones I can dissect.

Here's my praise. She effectively outted the truly most gullible, a few of them are on this thread.

You know if these braindead robots were the least bit serious about what they been posting then after the RINO GOP DOESN”T invite her they would be calling on her to third party, but that would cause them MORE problems when she doesn't.

You see, she is still a paid $$$ ‘political commentator’ and 'on contract political commentators' cant run for office.

Yes, you are continuing to walk with the fallen angels.

Your “reason” why Rumney shouldn’t pick success appears to assume that his IQ is down there with you and Obama.

Palin would give him what he needs and lacks. Avoiding her will just about guarantee his failure, and I remain confidant that he is aware of that.

The rest of your agitprop has to be assumed to be junk filler material.

Yes, you are continuing to walk with the fallen angels.

We are ALL sinners, having fallen short of the Glory of God.

Your “reason” why Rumney shouldn’t pick success appears to assume that his IQ is down there with you and Obama.

Do you ever really read or listen to what you type before you post? Listen carefully: Mitt-Witt is NOT going to have certain individuals speaking at what will be his coronation, for example: you think Newt Gingrich is going to be given an opportunity? Or Rick Perry? (especially after calling for Romney to release more tax returns?) He is going to prefer those who have strongly SUPPORTED him, not those who have lobbed one or more grenades at him and made his primary campaign more difficult. Likewise, he is not going to show a preference with those holding political ideologies that are diametrically opposed to his own.

But let's play some more:

First widdle 'editor', edit this sentence:

Sarah Palin has ____ number of things in common with Mitt Romney.

(your answer should be zero or close to zero, kinda where your reasoning abilities are)

Second, is Romney a conservative?
(this is a 'gimme' for ya, the answer is NO)

Third, is Sarah Palin a conservative?
(again, another 'gimme' for ya, the answer is obviously YES)

Palin would give him what he needs and lacks. Avoiding her will just about guarantee his failure, and I remain confidant that he is aware of that.

And upon what do you base that 'confidence'. Are you personal friends with Romney? Do you consult daily with his campaign staff? (Answer = NO)

This is classic conservative vs liberal/RINO territory, and ponder this hypothetical question: IF Sarah Palin were headed to the convention as the leader in delegates, her nomination was all but assured, do YOU think that she would be seeking the likes of Romney, or McCain, or some other liberal asswipe to speak at HER convention at the launching of HER campaign in the general election?

The answer is more than likely to be a solid Hell No!

You are clearly a one-dimensional thinker. You are unable to think outside the box, inside the box, or even how to FIND the damn box.

The rest of your agitprop has to be assumed to be junk filler material.

To someone with a room temperature IQ like yours, I can understand your failure to grasp anything more complicated than the contents of a Chinese fortune cookie.

RE :” Listen carefully: Mitt-Witt is NOT going to have certain individuals speaking at what will be his coronation, for example” (MarkJ to E-S)

It's perfectly logical that those Republicans who won delegates and those who endorsed Romney (mostly RINOs) in the primary are logically going to get the prime speaker spots at the convention, like them or not. The idea that a certain FNC paid $$$ ‘political commentator’WHO REFUSED TO RUN is going to be asked just because a few psycho's here still have wet dreams of her is ridiculous. They need to stop the whining and get a life.

Their cu-pie doll refused to run as a Republican in spite of their endless pathetic pleas to her for 3 years, and she wont run as third party against Romney regardless of all their pathetic whining on this thread subject. She is still a highly paid $$$$ ‘political commentator’. These idiots STILL don't understand what that means,

The Palinista cult ranks have dwindled to a tiny fraction of what they started with (bullies are only ‘brave’ with superior force), The remaining few aggressive Palinista (losers) on this thread who have not got that clue NOT project a huge sense of weakness with their lame attacks because of that.

BTW : Glad to see that you are all still here.

To prove that I am always right, OK Almost always LOL .....

There is a certain aggressive Palinista bully who showed up on this thread who once followed me from thread to thread insulting me and trying to provoke me to to make replies that get me in trouble. And he successfully got one of our good friends (code name 'protect our country from invaders') to give up posting here for a long period because of his aggressive attacks on her.

Well he has yet to ping me directly while posting here on this thread. HAH

Would be an interesting news day if several events occurred, don’t know in what order though.

Obama is removed from office due to ineligibility.

Romney decides to remove himself from the nomination due to a sudden health issue.

Iran surrenders and decides it won;t play Obamas election timed war games.

Tampa Bay is the focus of a massive influx of Sarah Palin supporters dwarfing the GOP event.

Biden becomes acting POTUS.

Say there, you forgot a few items:

A gigantic UFO mothership lands on the Washington Monument grounds, festooned with American Flags showing 76 States, and upon landing, Ronald Reagan, Jesse Helms, John Wayne and other great patriots exit the craft, announcing that they are from an alternate timeline where conservative American philosophy has triumphed over all leftist-radical ideology, American science has perfected an age limiting medication (which explains why Reagan, Helms and Wayne look like they’re only in their 50’s), and they further inform us that they have arrived in our dimensional timeline to ‘clean up the mess’ that the ‘Rats, RINOs and affiliated dirtbags have made of our Nation, and with that?

The lasers start firing, our enemies begin dying, and then Kate Smith climbs out of the mothership and levitates high above the crowds and begins singing her signature song “GOD BLESS AMERICA” to the cheers of the masses.

If you’re going to dream E-of-U, dream BIG.

IIRC, Palin got a 1 million per year guarantee from Fox News, good for 5 years. This sum probably would just about pay her federal and state income taxes on her book royalties : )

Why the hell should she give all this up, and run for office ?

Well that is why I was sure she was not running
But I seriously doubt that FNC would allow Palin to give a speech at the convention while she has this contract, for ethical reasons. You see Hannity giving convention speeches? He got a media desk at the one in 2004.

The complete stupidity of some is beyond description.
