Mitt Romney's tax returns had nothing to do with Sen. John McCain's decision to choose Sarah Palin as his running mate in 2008, according to the Arizona Republican, saying he chose the former Alaska governor because she was a "better candidate."
McCain received more than two decades worth of Romney's tax returns as the former Massachusetts governor was undergoing the vetting process four years ago, far more than Romney has released publicly in the 2012 campaign. Democrats have questioned whether McCain saw something untoward in those tax returns and decided to choose Palin instead.
But on Tuesday, McCain flatly rejected that assertion and grew angry at questions over his decision to choose Palin over Romney.
Asked why he chose not to go with Romney, McCain said: "Oh come on, because we thought that Sarah Palin was the better candidate. Why did we not take [Tim] Pawlenty, why did we not take any of the other 10 other people. Why didnt I? Because we had a better candidate, the same way with all the others. ... Come on, why? Thats a stupid question."

Last I heard the mental giants in the Republican party aren’t even considering her to speak at the convention. So typical. Think maybe they’re afraid she’ll show up their candidate? Who knows with that bunch of schmucks!
I can only stomach so much of Savage’s egotistical nature. He calls Sarah, “Mush, Mush,” and has a solid hatred for her. Which makes me dislike him very much. He isn’t the sharp tack he thinks he is.
You are probably correct on substance, but as you said, the heavily edited interview gave the distinct impression that she was confused at best. General public seldom knows the detailed facts.
Palin certainly had more experience than the moron who was elected.
Sarah should have declined to be McCains’ VP. Hind sight is 20-20. She was worthy, but not ready. We lost a good one (Sarah not McCain) in a futile fight. It is all Bushs’ fault.
Not even a question, as a governor she had better executive experience. But remember 95% of voters are ignorant of details. What impressions they gather from watching MSM is what they know.
Aww, Johnny finally sticks up for the girl.
That I completely agree with. I can only take so much of him myself.
lol more experience than zerobama ain’t much to brag about.
Repeating, she was not ready for national contest in 2008. Now in 2012 she is quite ready.
“WOW n00bie Dontcha think a woman would be a great top of the ticket ???”
n00bie? In the “member since” only...
Absolutely I do - I would looove to see Sara on the ticket!!!
As for my comment about a “woman scorned”...I was referring to John McCain :)))
Carry on my friend!
