It’s actually come to this. Wow… just wow. ------------------------------------------------

"In the House, Rep. Sander Levin (D-Mich.) is proposing legislation that would require presidential candidates to release 10 years worth of tax returns and disclose any overseas investments."

We should have the public release of all tax records, educational transcripts, and complete birth records of all senior government employees or volunteers, political party executives, and media employees currently serving going back 50 years.

Then we can talk about current candidates.

They could just ask McCain, he’s got 20 years of Willard returns.

Political theater. They don’t have the courage or the desire to carry it out.

I think Romney is playing the left on this like a fiddle. I have a strong feeling there is nothing suspect in his tax returns and they may actually paint him in a good light with high charitable donations and wise investments.

I agree something along that line is probably the case. Somehow I don't see the Team Romney managers wringing their hands and asking, “Oh, what to do. What to do?,” in quavering voices. More like, “Target acquired. Readying tax return response. Execute.”

How about all Congressional candidate’s records, also. Including taxes, income, collegiate records, papers, etc.

I am pretty sure you can’t pass legislation aimed at one person.

You are speaking of a "bill of attainder", and it is, indeed, unconstitutional, but to be invalidated it must be shown that one, and only one, individual would ever be affected.

"All candidates" is obviously more than one person.

It would only be fair if Senators and representatives were required to do the same.

Bernie isn't against fairness, is he?

McCain viewed 23 years of Romney tax returns when considering him as a vice presidential candidate in 2008 but selected Sarah Palin as his running mate instead.

I also believe there is nothing Romney is hiding. I do hope this is a ploy to make the usurper release his information in exchange for Romney’s. This of course will never happen, but it would be a very good move! Trump is pushing for this in the background!

“Make it mandatory for everyone in Congress and see how it goes over.”
