First responders to the Aurora theater shooting at first thought the shooter was a fellow officer, and the shooter had taken 100mg of Vicodin about two and half hours before the shooting, according to information from sources.
He’s a murderer and deserves to rot in the pit of hell.
lol Are you kidding? You think taking ten 10mg of Vicodin would make you comatose? No.
Especially if you’re used to taking them everyday or you’re addicted to them.
Possibly he knew the alarm was disabled, or that it would be ignored for whatever reason. Being the apparent Batman and comic book hero geek that he’s purported to be, he’s no stranger to movie theaters and possibly knows that particular multiplex well, it’s only four miles or so from his apartment.
This evil perp was brilliant. In addition to all of the rest of his preparations, he took enough painkiller that he could continue shooting people despite receiving wounds that would otherwise cause debilitating pain.
I don’t know his motive, but it is clear that he was very thorough in his preparation. It is as if he sat down and war-gamed shootings with a goal of just seeing how long he could keep shooting and how many people he could just impact.
My hat is off to him. Brilliant.
You never want brilliant and evil to intersect. You want evil to join stupid, so it has less impact. Evil and driven is bad enough. But when evil and driven have brilliant behind them, you get what we got in Aurora CO.
I would not want to be him when he stands before the Lord Christ for a long bitter discussion. All the Vicodin in the world will not dimple the crushing pain that will wrack his immortal soul when he stands before Christ and Christ says “you know what you did”. I pity him that.
In the meantime, a long parade of school teachers, Hollywood producers, journalists, and atheists all played a role in the creating this demonic monster.

Vicodin usually comes in 5 or 7.5 mg pills. Rare do you find 10mg. So he took about 15-20 pills. Cripes.

I’ve known people with terminal cancer who could have all they want and doubt any of them took 100mg in 16-18 hrs.
Since ‘vicodin’ is hydrocodone with acetaminophen, it’s possible some Dumas reporter or LEO just got the facts wrong.
And that's not even considering the acetominaphen, like the others have said.
My grandmother in her 80’s takes 3-5 10mg pills a day. It’s her tolerance to them that brought her to that level, especially common for those that are long term pain sufferers and have been prescribed this type of narcotic for long periods of time. She weighs a mere 110lbs and will be on them for the duration of her life. She started at 5mg some years ago, and it is up to the 10mg now, every four hours if needed. It doesn’t have the effect someone new to the pill would get.
Taking 10 10mg or 15-20 lower dose pills at one time would affect cognition I believe and if he did it to stay upright if taking hits it was probably methodically planned with tolerance levels built up. Just like the rest of his pre-planning that seemed long term. I personally think taking 100mg at one time, one could expect difficulty with breathing, seeing in the dark, and staying awake. If he was accustomed to them and built a tolerance level, he may have gotten a bit of a high or euphoria from taking them in that quantity.
I’m telling you people who are addicted or who are used to taking them can easily take ten pills. Five at one time, then a few hours later take another five.
It’s not gonna send you into a coma or kill your liver....at least not right away. If you do this over a period of time yes of course. Lets say this idiot was used to popping five to six pain killers a day. It wouldn’t knock him out to up the dosage a few pills for this one “special” occasion.
I had a cousin who spent thousands a month on pain killers because she’d take around 7 or 8 a day, and Vicodin isn’t even the strongest of pain killers.
Wrong, they commonly are prescribed in 5 mg, 7.5 mg, and 10 mg depending on your pain and the willingness of the doctor.
I’ve seen loser pain pill addicts able to con a doctor into giving them 10 mg.
It was something, anything related to the killings! We MUST ban Something, ANYTHING!!
So it was the AMA and NOT the NRA (as the New Yawk Daily Snooze ‘editorial board’ claims) who was “standing beside” Holmes when he was killing those people?
Not to mention college age adults get them illegally all of the time. Finding someone selling 10 mg of Vicodin would not be hard for this loser especially if he’s meeting people online for group sex etc.
I asked a doper (since I’m sure there are none on FR), and he’s never taken 100 at a time but has taken 90, and knows of addicts who probably do 500mg in 24 hrs! Given varying individual tolerances, 100 is possible in one survivable dose, though I’m still skeptical one could function very well.

Exactly. At this point, we know little for certain other than that this coward killed a lot of innocent people while dressed to protect himself. 'Course if he did indeed tell authorities he took that much vicodin, he could just be attempting a little CYA, in advance of a pharamaceutical Twinkies defense.
I used 1 pill with the first and 1 pill with the second.
I preferred the pain quite frankly so I quit using them. They are all around here somewhere, but Vicodin is not a joke.
That’s roughly 3250 mg to 5000 mg of acetaminophen, or up to 10 max strength Tylenol. The narcotic isn’t going to be what kills you. Plus, if he took it in th 5 mg dose, that would be 10000 mg. dead or nearly dead any way you pop it. This story is BS.
