SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Mitt Romney says President Barack Obama's decision to meet with the families of victims of the Colorado shooting was "the right thing."

The Republican presidential candidate spoke to donors in San Francisco Sunday night at roughly the same time Obama consoled grieving families in Aurora, Colo.

Here’s a posting of mine from April (post #25):

“The best candidate, from a Dem standpoint, is ALWAYS the one that insults the Republican base. McCain was a dream candidate for them, and Romney will be the same...unless we Texans put an end to him.”

The last (really second to last, due to that crappy governor) person that I ever wanted to wind the nomination was Romney.

Feel free to do your own searching and see what you find about me. I used:

Correct. Of course it’s blatantly political but Romney can’t say so without looking uncaring and even more political. He played it right

“My ‘gig’ is that there is supposed to be a truce. Remember that thread? You do what you have to do, I’ll do what I have to do.”

Actually not, but I agree, there should be a truce. I just get a bit worked up when some people ‘seem’ to still have such a problem with Romney that they feel the election doesn’t even matter. I do understand them - for if Romney is elected, we’ll have to drag him around to show him what conservatism is.

But the alternative just about finishes off this country.

I'm one of those people that won't vote for a socialist, anti-gun, pro-abortion, big government candidate.

Either of them.

The thread I referenced was posted by the host of this website.

I realize who had to have posted the thread - even if I didn’t read it or don’t remember it.

“I’m one of those people that won’t vote for a socialist, anti-gun, pro-abortion, big government candidate.”

As to who you vote for (or against), that’s your call.

Did a sitting president visit the families of the victims in the Texas shootings or the ones at the university or the other mass murders

Peace to both of you.

There is a “truce”? I must have missed that thread (it must have run when FR was down.)

NO, we all want to evict this radical Communist, and you well know, that the term is not some crazy insult but it can be well documented, we all want this radical Communist out, even if the likes of Romney and Karl Rove replace him there, but one throws up his arms in frustration when Romney does a McCain routine when he could have kept his mouth shut, or if he were politically clever and a little brave, he’d instead of commenting on the trip to Aurora he’d ask with all the sincerity he could muster when Obama was going to comfort the families in his (alleged) hometown of Chicago, which would have been a safe shot across the bow, that the weasel media couldn’t explain away (although it would probably ignore it.)

So that’s my lame excuse for losing my cool.

It might even be considered sincere if:
Ubama had shown the same interest in Fort Hood.
Colorado wasn’t a crucial battleground state this election.
He actually had gone to Colorado for more than a Photo-Op.

As usual, he with teleprompter looked to have all the sincerity that he had when he went to Colorado for the Fire, photo-op.
We have paid for both campaign trips.

I would expect Romney to say that, and I would expect the Ass Press to inflate it as if Romney loves Obamugabe.

I won’t take the bait. Obamugabe is a horrible, horrible occupier of the Oval Office and none of his pretending to be a comforter will change his failure to move America in the right direction.

I wish the best for the people who are suffering from the machinations of the depraved mind that went berserk last week...and whatever comfort they might receive from this guy, well, I hope it helps. I know in my hour of grief, honestly, I would refuse to meet with him.

I agree. If I would to have this type of murder done to a member of my family. I am pretty certain that I would not be comforted with a visit by Obama. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it, I would just say i would prefer not to be used as a political prop.

I sincerely doubt that Romney is stupid. That’s why he said it was the right thing to do. He would be crucified for saying anything else - as emotions are running very high right now on this issue.

We all know, of course, that zero’s real reason is for political reasons - nothing more, nothing less. He doesn’t give a rat’s behind about any of the victims or their families. He only cares about votes. His speech after the tragedy was dull, lifeless, and insincere. Not one ounce of comfort came from his hollow words. He did manage to turn it to himself by pointing out that his daughters also go to the movies. So, what? They have secret service at their beck and call.

Romney’s speech, on the other hand, had just the right tone, was comforting and heart-felt. Notice the difference - one is presidential, the other play acting.

Obama has been working without TOTUS.

Great odds that 0bama will say something incredibly stupid without the teleprompter

IMHO, Romney would score more points if he called Obama’s visit what it is: a campaign stop. Instead, Romney sounds like John McCain. That’s not good.
