Have you heard any later news on why Perry endorsed dewhurst? Levin was saying colburn endorsed a dim Senator for reelection and donated $250.00 to him. Does the gop actually want to take the Senate or are friendships across the isle going to trump our future? The last week is like living in a vortex.

Just recently at Texas State Republican Convention Perry got booed big time by the crowd when he mentioned his support of Dewhurst

Just a guess, but if Dewhurst loses to Cruz, he will still fill out his term as Lt. Governor. As such Dewhurst would still be the head of the Texas Senate in the upcoming 2013 legislative session and control the legislation through the Senate. Perry might find it difficult to get any of his agenda through the Senate if he were to back Cruz. Again, just a guess!
Also some other Texas Freepers maybe able to speak to this better, but were Dewhust to beat Cruz and then win the Senate seat, Perry may get to appoint someone to fill the Lt. Governor position until the next election. That person would no doubt be indebted to Perry.
