Swimmer Ryan Lochte claimed the first gold medal for U.S. athletes at the London Olympics on Saturday. But Barack Obama has a message for Lochte, and other American medal winners: You didn't win that.

I would say the tone of that is quite different from what we heard from Dear Reader.
First of all - Obama’s tone of voice and facial expression revealed exasperation and condescension towards business owners....he seems to be saying there are a whole bunch of dumb business people out there who DON’T give credit to their communities.
He also conveniently leaves out the fact that those same business owners are paying the very same taxes that built those roads and bridges.
So, for him to smirk and declare, - you didn’t do that. You didn’t do that!
puts it in a different category than that blip from Romney
Of course! Lochte didn’t build the lane nor pool in which he swam to gold.....

Lots of humor can be made over Obama’s ridiculous statement about “You did not build that”.
A week ago I wrote here that if Obama said such a thing to a song writer, or an actor, musician, or athlete like what he said about businessmen, he would hooted off the podium. So, I find it humorous to see that others also see the disfunction in Obama’s philosophy; and the hypocracy in his liberal supporters.
My guess is that few business owners would claim they achieved success SOLELY on their own, either. They would give lots of credit to their families, their employees and, especially, their customers. But most business owners will tell you that government often gets in the way of their success, rather than contributing to it ... and that they pay their share for the services government does provide.
Like the academy awards, they thank everybody including the studio night janitor.
You raise a good point there. Why wasn't Zippo hooted off the podium in Roanoke? Because he was talking to vetted, bussed in astroturf. There probably wasn't any business owners or professionals there at all.

If no one is a winner because anyone that wins had to have help and that help gets the credit then let’s not have winners and losers. Oh, wait, the is the Communist game. I guess we don’t need to have competitions because we all know we win together anyway, so if we are all winners then we would only be competing against ourselves.
No need for a baseball game. We’ll call every game a tie as we all know that baseball glove manufacturer made the gloves for every player and that manufacturer deserves credit no matter who wins.
No need for a pole vaulter as we all know the taxi driver the pole vaulter used deserves credit for getting the pole vaulter to the game, and without that ride the pole vaulter would have never competed.
This world has lost its common sense. I mean, we know more than ever but are dumber for it. No one seems to be able to put knowledge into context.
So, let me help you with that. People get credit for taking whatever was there and making more of it. Baseball players take that glove and make a great catch. No one else made that catch for them; they did it themselves. They get credit for that catch. A pole vaulter could have gotten a ride from anyone or even walked to the stadium. No taxi driver ran down the field and vaulted over the bar. The bar manufacturer didn’t run and vault, either. Common sense says no one stands in an empty field to then achieve greatness on their own. Everyone must use resources and accomplishments that came before them, but common sense says they take those resources and make more of it. That is the credit they are receiving.
To wussies like Obama and all Communists, they never competed for anything, not in sports and not in business, so they have no clue about that common sense concept of taking what is there and making more of it, achieving greatness. They are jealous little children that want credit for just standing there.
What Obama was trying to get across is that anyone that achieves beyond what was there should have any gains taken away and the gains given to the rest of the people as they somehow contributed. That is the Communist ideal. That is the Communist plan. Communist are jealous little kids that don’t achieve themselves but want to steal the achievements of others and use the excuse that they somehow must have had a hand in it. That is how Communist excuse stealing the profits from everyone else and redistributing the profits.
Obama made it “perfectly clear” that business owners do not take what is there, add their skill, risk, money, time, and labor to it and achieve something greater. He claims their input is nothing compared to the input of everyone else and therefore their profits should be taken and redistributed to everyone else.
The fact is our society provides a foundation for anyone to make more of what is there and create something grater, including profits. If you don’t take advantage of what is there and make more of it, why do you then deserve more yourself? When Obama claimed someone made the roads, OK, they got paid to make those roads. Their profits have been realized. They made profit. Done. Why do they then deserve more profits if someone then makes better use of that road to make further profit? A free society is not a Ponzi scheme. We don’t give profit to the road crew to build the road then give them further profits as businesses make use of the road, forever and ever. Wouldn’t that be nice: Build a mile of road and watch the profits kick in forever and ever as businesses line the road with their factories?
Under Obama’s Communist ideal, the first person to make anything at all will always be the richest person as all profits were derived from that person’s initial product.
Under Obama’s Communist ideal, all actions are absolute, meaning, if a factory hires someone to break ground and dig that first shovel full of dirt, that person gets to claim the factory couldn’t have been built without them. Of course that factory owner could have hired someone else or did it themselves but under the childish Communist ideal the factory owner owes a lifetime of gratitude to the person that shovel that first shovel of dirt. Under Obama’s Communist ideal a stranger could walk into a factory first thing in the morning, turn on the lights, and then claim profits as, “You didn’t turn those lights on. I did. You couldn’t have operated today unless those lights were turned on”, forgetting the factory owner could have just as easily turned those lights on himself and usually did.
Under Obama’s Communist ideal, all production is absolute. If a factory produces steal at $1 pound they should get credit for how that steal is used by some other factory and deserve lifelong profits from it. Of course, that forgets a common sense idea that a competitor might come along and offer the steal cheaper and without that lifelong demand for more profits.
Under Obama’s Communist ideal, someone should get paid when there are no profits then claim profits as well later. Think about it: A person builds a road and gets paid. There are no profits from that road but they get paid, yet, when there are profits at a later time they should get paid again. According to Obama: “You didn’t build that road. Someone else did that”, as an assumption that once someone else makes profits the Communist ideal says that road builder should be paid again. Obama and the Communists fail to even think about the book keeping hassle that would bring about: Tracking everything anyone ever did to try to ensure they got their Communist Ponzi scheme payments forever and ever.
Under Obama’s Communist ideal, a person does not agree to make a product or provide a service for payment, they are actually agreeing to be paid up front and then be paid, again, and again, and again as their product or service is built upon for further profits by someone else. In fact, according to Obama’s Communist ideal, a person doesn’t actually need to build the entire road, just the first few feet of it as they can then claim, “You didn’t build that road by yourself, I built the first 10 feet of it and without my contribution that road would have never been built.” Of course, that’s a stupid argument as the person that built the rest of the road could have just as easily also paved that first 10 feet.
Under Obama’s Communist ideal the government does everything: Builds roads, water treatment plants, etc. What he doesn’t give credit to is that fact that government has nothing and must take from those making profits from their businesses to perform anything service. Government is not the originator of anything, private businesses originate profits. The government didn’t build those roads. Government didn’t have any money to build those roads. They usually also have to contract out to private businesses to build those roads. We the People, and our private businesses, built those roads using profits taxed from us to do so. Again, Communists are simply jealous little kids that want to do nothing but get credit for everything while refusing to give credit to those that actually deserve the credit.
I like what Rush said to a caller a few days ago. You get credit for what you’ve done, you do not get credit for what other people do and you do not get compensated ofr it. It’s a simple formula.

That right there is a matter of perception.. I know a bunch of “managers” that take credit for what their people do... But they enable the work.
How do you compensate for that ?
Most companies have a policy that if you ‘invent’ something while in their employ, the company OWNS it. Software written is the property of the company.
SO... even if YOU DID IT, it belongs to others. Which, in a way, is socialism.

0bama should return the Nobel Peace Prize that was given to him for nothing. He certainly hasn’t earned that.
