Congressman Allen West responded with concern to an audience question about a possible Russian naval base in Cuba at Fridays monthly town hall meeting.
We have a soft underbelly right here in the United States of America, as we look to our south, and weve got to pay attention to it, West said. West pointed out that the only real military presence America has in this hemisphere is the Coast Guard, quoting the U.S. Southern Command in Miami, which oversees the region. I have big concerns about whats happening right here in our hemisphere, West said. We dont have anything in this hemisphere, but yet you have Hezbollah training camps, you have Hugo Chavez, you have the Ortega brothers, and you have narco traffickers in Mexico that are working with Iran and Hezbollah. Pretty sharp guy.
West is a Future President
Could be our first black president.
It’s comforting to know there is at least one person in DC that gets it. I hope that Romney will utilize West’s knowledge and experience when it comes to national security issues in the not so distant future.
Of course, the non-Natural Born Citizens, Rubio and Jindal seem to be on everyone's mind.
And Romney, how’s his NBC ?
Since his Dad was also Governor of Michigan, why I'd be inclined to accept him as an American Citizen. This line of question, as well-meaning it may be, was disposed of in 1968, when Romney, Sr. campaigned for the Presidency on the Republican Primary Tickets.
OTOH, Neither of Rubio's parents were American Citizens at the time of his birth. Jindal's father may have been, his mother definitely not. He's closer. SCOTUS owes us a ruling ... avoiding it.
A person born in the USA who meets residency and age requirements is qualified to run for the presidency.
You mean Valerie Jarret ?
