[Try not to Laugh] LOS ANGELESWhen Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa gavels the 2012 Democratic National Convention into session in Charlotte, N.C., this September, his role as prominent cheerleader for President Barack Obama will be clear.
It is less clear, for now, if Villaraigosa has designs on the ultimate convention role in 2016taking center stage to accept his party's nomination on the final night. Despite running the country's second largest city and coming from the fastest growing voting demographic in America, the mayor himself is quick to wave off talk of a presidential run...

I’m afraid that might take more voter fraud than the ‘RATS would be able to get away with in one election.

Tony is a latino ex-union goon with an appetite for women stronger than BJ Clinton. So, he may well be the DNC nominee in 2016.

I want to scoff as much as the next Freeper. But hey, Obama became President, didn't he?
Frankly, I think that the Democrats are in trouble in 2016. If "President" Romney unleashes the private sector, he can run a Reagan-like "Morning in America" campaign in 2016. If somehow the Kenyan Marxist wins in November, we may not have a country in 2016.

dunno, if u can govern over a disaster in californication, and do well u might have a chance.
think Ronald Reagan was the last. will be for a long time.
we already got chicago thug values in the huthouse now. we don’t need los angelos values or sacramento values in america.
i don’t demean californians at all that are patriots, i live in the Land of Lincoln, that’s a laugh!
I think that we should divide the states up. u know so people are not dominated by the big cities that wish to force their “chicago values” down our throats.
that is why our founding fathers gave us the electorial college.
i think that portions of a state ought to be able to succeed from the state and form their own.
take care of the problem with big city thugs.
blessings, bobo

The moron in a parallel universe who wrote this used to work for PBS. Good grief. Yahoo really is circling the drain when it lets people like this indulge in wishful thinking and call it “reporting.”

Despite running the country's second largest city and coming from the fastest growing voting demographic in America, the mayor himself is quick to wave off talk of a presidential run... He declined to run for governor in 2010 and he can't take Feinstein's place in the Senate since she's run for reelection in Nov. That should tell us what we need to know. A mayor is not going to be elected president.
