Palin to Cheney: Careful where you aim
CNN ^ | Aug 1 2012 | CNN

Don't expect to see Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney on an elk hunt anytime soon.

The former Alaska governor slammed Cheney Tuesday for his assertion that it was a mistake to put her on the 2008 GOP ticket, saying the former vice president was being influenced by the "lamestream media."

Appearing to reference a now-infamous incident from 2006 when Cheney accidentally shot a campaign contributor on a quail hunt, Palin said sarcastically that Cheney was not known for his "misfires."

"Seeing as how Dick – excuse me, Vice President Cheney – never misfires, then evidently he's quite convinced that what he had evidently read about me by the lamestream media, having been written, what I believe is a false narrative over the last four years, evidently Dick Cheney believed that stuff and that's a shame," Palin said in an appearance on Fox News.

Cheny should have directed his comments towards Obummer. Obummer had “ZERO” experience to become the president. Palin on the otherhand had a bit of experience but somewhat limited. Between Palin and Obummer, which one had the most experience? Pretty simple answer, huh?

Cheney makes the same huge mistake republicans and conservatives make again and again: He allows the left to set the terms of the debate.

Look at the absurdity of discussing the fitness of someone who ran as vice-president four years ago while we have a sitting president and vice president who not only were far less qualified, but have also shown themselves to be completely unable to perform their duties on a continual basis.

If this is the best Cheney can do he needs to stick to shooting lawyers and keep his mouth shut.

I agree. Especially a little more than 3 months befoe Presidential election. If nothing else, ill-timed.

Overall, I still like VP Cheney, but that’s a mighty fine zinger from Sarah!

I wonder if they’re a little concerned about the possibility of Palin taking the spotlight away from their boy Willard Bushney?
In otherwords, it was a calculated statement. Only it kind of backfired?

I find it hilarious to see what has happened to CNN.

*Too liberal for conservatives.
*Too corporate for liberals.
*To tabloid/Nancy Grace-ish for moderates.

There’s no one left.

For most of the Republican establishment — even a Republican establishment good guy like Cheney — the 11th commandment doesn’t apply to tea party candidates, only to other establishment Republicans.

And that’s very bad and very wrong and shame on you Cheney for thinking this way.

Cheney counts results? Does he seriously dispute the proposition that Palin boosted McCain’s numbers?

You are right. This is worse than senility. Senility isn’t strong enough to explain this.

Dick Cheney, Republican establishment.

Cheney was a draft dodger, a school flunky, a drunk, and made his bones in DC doing nothing but politics.

“He attended Yale University, but by his own account had problems adjusting to the college, and flunked out twice. Among the influential teachers from his days in New Haven was Professor H. Bradford Westerfield, whom Cheney repeatedly credited with having helped to shape his approach to foreign policy. He later attended the University of Wyoming, where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in political science. He subsequently started, but did not finish, doctoral studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

In November 1962, at the age of 21, Cheney was convicted of driving while intoxicated (DWI). He was arrested for DWI again the following year. Cheney said that the arrests made him “think about where I was and where I was headed. I was headed down a bad road if I continued on that course.”

In 1964, he married Lynne Vincent, his high school sweetheart, whom he had met at age 14.

When Cheney became eligible for the draft, during the Vietnam War, he applied for and received five draft deferments.

Cheney’s political career began in 1969, as an intern for Congressman William A. Steiger during the Richard Nixon Administration. He then joined the staff of Donald Rumsfeld, who was then Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity from 1969–70. He held several positions in the years that followed: White House Staff Assistant in 1971, Assistant Director of the Cost of Living Council from 1971–73, and Deputy Assistant to the president from 1974–1975. As deputy assistant, Cheney suggested several options in a memo to Rumsfeld, including use of the US Justice Department, that the Ford administration could use to limit damage from an article, published by The New York Times, in which investigative reporter Seymour Hersh reported that Navy submarines had tapped into Soviet undersea communications as part of a highly classified program, Operation Ivy Bells.

Cheney was Assistant to the President under Gerald Ford. When Rumsfeld was named Secretary of Defense, Cheney became White House Chief of Staff, succeeding Rumsfeld.[14] He later was campaign manager for Ford’s 1976 presidential campaign.”

A picture is worth a thousand argumentative words. Of course Cheney has reason to be jealous of Sarah and her normal family. I always liked Cheney, now he’s made me mad at him.

Cheney counts results, so in that sense he has a point. We lost.

Well, that was not all McCain's and Palin's fault. Bush/Cheney left the GOP brand in tatters during the 2006 and 2008 elections. It took the Tea Party rubes to bring the GOP back in 2010. So he is hardly in a position to lecture about success and failure in that regard.

McCain staggered around debate stages yelling at his supporters. I think this was a big part of it!

Also he reused to use the political gift of the century that was placed in his lap...Rev Wright and all of Obama`s terrorist left wing radical pals

DICK Cheney lost a lot of points on this gaffe. Rove has done the same thing and if I ever meet him I will spit on him. The “professionals” think that they can ignore what the people want. Shame on the PhD Political Scientists....too smart for their own good!.

What”Dick”, McCane or the Bushs think is no longer relevant. However Romney must deal with Sarah! (who has over 90% of her endorsees successful, a larger facebook/twitter following then he has, and has the political chips to make him or break him come November). Romney better start making friends soon.
