Chick-fil-A faces "kiss-in" protest in gay marriage flap

Same Sex Kiss Day is a reaction to comments last month from Dan Cathy, who said he supported "the biblical definition of the family unit" and that backers of gay marriage were "arrogant."

Carly McGehee, a Dallas political activist who came up with the idea of the kiss-in, said more than 15,000 people said they would join the protest since she posted an announcement on her Facebook page on July 19. (SNIP) An anti-kiss in protester, Leroy Swailes, 61, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, said he had seen two same-sex couples - one male, one female - bussing inside the restaurant earlier.

"I'm a specialist. I've been doing this since the '60s, protesting homosexuals," said Swailes, who was dressed in clerical garb with a T-shirt over it with lettering that said "The Resurrection of Sodom and Gommorah."

Even if all 15,000 showed up (dubious proposition), that would be maybe 5% of what showed up on Wednesday (300k - anybody seen any real numbers on that?).

But they will lead the league in used condoms left on seats, public indecency, graffiti, and public nuisance arrests.

More than 20 protesters gathered at one of the fast-food restaurants in Decatur, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb, where Mark Toomajian kissed his partner, Jim Fortier, 58, for the cameras.

Several thousand supporters of free speech, freedom and liberty went to every Chick-Fil-A restaurant in America making a stand for free speech and morality. We did not do so for the cameras.

“It’s a human rights issue, it’s not a First Amendment issue,” said Toomajian, 41,

I was unaware that being a pervert was a human right.
That said Chick-Fil-A nor anyone else is stopping you from being a pervert. We are just not going to allow you to force us and society to accept perversion an acceptable part of our society. That will never happen..

1,600 restaurants. @ average attendance of 500, 1,000, 2,000, total participants would be 800k, 1.6M, or 3.2M. The number is HUGE.

WOW! “More than 20 protestors”, eh?

Suppose they gave a same-sex kiss-in and nobody came....er, attended?

Politicians take note. Think twice before catering to these perverts. You’ll lose far more votes than you gain.

At the end of the day, we shall see. We shall see.

You have to give them credit. Watching two men laying a big wet one on each other would definitely kill my appetite. Faith issues aside, I think even the non-religious find the idea of same gender sex inherently repulsive. They'll never overcome the stigma because it's organic.

I ate at CFA again today, still long lines, still great service, and the only “mouth action” I saw was people enjoying their chicken and waffle fries.

Libs always overplay their game, and hardly ever walk their talk.

OK, just took a wild guess at 300k.
at 1.5M, the heterophobes would be 1%.

I just drove through Chick-fil-A, bought a sandwich, and gave it to a guy selling the local homeless paper (I don’t eat meat on Fridays). He was happy to have it and told me, “I love Chick-fil-A! I don’t care about any controversy.” Oh, and the store was still crowded at 4pm. No sign of any kiss-in, as I expected in normal America.

Went buy the CFA in Schaumburg, Il, at 7pm Wednesday. The line if cars was about a half mile long. The parking lots on either side, both double lots with pretty big stores, were both full of cars. The Best Buy lot across the street was full. And people were parking in a another lot farther down.

I used to work with the Jr High kids at my old church. We were running between 600-700 kids plus 100 leaders a week.

I'd estimate the crowd outside at 500-600

At 9 pm, the cars lined up was about 200 yards long. All the same lots were full, and I'd say the crowd outside was still 400-500.

Stretch this over 6am-10pm, even with some slow spots, I'd say this one store, 25 miles from Rahm Emanuels downtown Chicago, probably had 5000 people at it, throughout the day.

And thats just one store.

According to Wikipedia, there are 1614 Chick-Fil-A's in the US.

If every store just had 1000 people for the day, that would be 1.6 million

I went to the Schaumburg store at 2pm this afternoon, to offset any gay boycotting.

Didn't see one obvious gay person. No signs. No mischief.

The store was BUSY.

My personal opinion is that this week was obviously CFA's best week ever. I think sales will continue to be above average for awhile and then level off. I think CFA has probably gained some new long term customers because of this week.

I also think that anything that the gays/liberals do in opposition to this last week will further anger all those who showed up, and they will in turn return to CFA to show their support.

This could continue as a tit for tat thing, but the gays have to remember, they are only about 1% of the population. They have to have their entire population involved to be really noticed (except for MSM exposure), the normal population only needs a slight turnout to overpower them.

and where were the cameras on Wednesday? A CBS Atlanta film crew showed up and said they wouldn't film it as it "wasn't a protest". But this they show up for?

The only reason nobama changed his stance on queer marriage is bucks. Pure and simple.

I'll bet not one of them bought anything - just showed up to have their picture taken, then left.
