Thailand does a lot of business with Malaysia. I think this is basically just pandering to them.

Doesn't a country have to exist before they can establish Embassies in other countries?

Or have things progressed to the point where I can request permission to open an embassy somewhere and if the country approves, I'm good to go?

I'm looking forward to having diplomatic immunity, somewhere.

Actually Beijing has more influence now than Pennsylvania.

Recently, NASA requested to conduct a sophisticated weather research/study program in U Tapao. Many here (myself included) believed it was just a front to operate spy missions in and over China. In any case, the program was not approved in part because the good folks here did not want to "offend" the neighbors to the north.

The world is changing much quicker than most people realize

These are the two abreviations (or maybe I should say 4 abreviations) that confuse me.

PA = Pennsylvania and Palestinian Authority

LA = Louisiana and Los Angeles

I thought it had to belong to the UN - read that somewhere very recently, that it applied the the US, at least. I mean the ‘country’ has to belong to the UN before the US would recognize it.

I guess you cannot believe everything you read.

There is a lot of Muslim terrorism in Thailand, especially in the south of the country. I don’t get this.

Best to think internationally these days, unless you feel there is a President on the horizon that'll pull the US out of the UN.
