Obama angers military groups with lawsuit against Ohio early voting law
Washington Examiner ^ | August 4, 2012 | Joel Gehrke

Fifteen Ohio military groups have gone to court to oppose an “offensive” lawsuit filed by President Obama’s campaign that challenges a law allowing military members to vote on days when the rest of the state cannot.

“The Obama campaign’s and Democratic National Committee’s argument that it is arbitrary and unconstitutional to afford special consideration, flexibility, and accommodations to military voters to make it easier for them to vote in person is not only offensive, but flatly wrong as a matter of law,” the military groups — which include the Marine Corps League, the Association of the U.S. Army, and the Association of the U.S. Navy — argued in their filing.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney also attacked Obama over the issue. “President Obama’s lawsuit claiming it is unconstitutional for Ohio to allow servicemen and women extended early voting privileges during the state’s early voting period is an outrage,” Romney said in a statement today.

The “lefty games” of making sure the military ballots don’t go out in time should be foremost in the minds of conservatives. It’s PAST time our military is not disenfranchised.

The military men and women should be given AMPLE time to vote, even if it means giving them PRIORITY over EBT-users, idiot Marxists, arrogant liberals who think they know best, community organizers and people who live off workers in this country while sitting in their “Ex-cu-lades” in the “Handicapped” spaces at the post office, not to mention the Soros-supported Secretaries of State.

Um, by raising the Constituionalty issue the way they did, they are effectively pleading in the alternative: either allow all or none to vote early. To plead only making all eligible to vote early, they could have plead that it was unconstitutional to deny early voting to others, not that early voting by service members was unconstitutional.

Then again, I also think televised public floggings as a criminal punishment, and a return to hangings for capital convictions for things like murder and vote tampering, would do quite a lot to reduce crime.

You might be a tad more radical than I...

How, then, does obama justify granting exemptions from obamacare to his buddies?

This reminds me of when Clinton removed voting booths from bases and made service people vote in town. This reminds me of Florida 2000 when military ballots were tossed out. Remember the Republican party tends to be home of red blooded American patriots and the Democrat party tends to be the home of hippies and communists. Not in all cases but it trends that way. This is why the Democrats want to (once again) disenfranchise them military. Please don’t make excuses for this embarrassment of a president. He is who he appears to be and he does what he appears to do.

Ah, the Obama administration has pissed off so much more than the military believe me! He has just alienated over half of the country! Not to me, that is a good thing because that just incentivised them to vote against him this November.

So I can only think that this is a GOOD thing!

It’s Sad that Our Soldiers have to fight in Wars only to be treated like scum by their own President.

Obama is a Traitor to America.

That foul piece of dogsh** Ubama will wage the filthiest, dirtiest campaign in history.
If Romney isn’t ready to respond in kind he will be eaten alive.

Of course, maybe Romney wants to run “an honorable campaign” like that other loser, McCain.

Those tossed Military Votes were never added to the 537 (?) Vote Total that Bush received over Gore.

As I recall, the win would have been much more convincing, probably adding 2,500 Votes to the Bush count, but the Election Results were finalized without them.

Not a myth. They vote absentee for their northern address and in person in Fl from their southern address. They justify it because they pay taxes in both places.

I sat and heard 25 or 30 people all brag about NY not canceling their registration when they registered in Florida! West Palm area, home of the famous “re-count”.

At what point does an escalated effort to remove this traitor commence, and what form does it take?

It all depends on how one reads the news that is reported.

We have all seen how the media distorts the truths to be in line with their agenda.

Whos’ right and who’s wrong is not what is important to the media, it is what THEY want you to believe is true.
