In contrast to Obama, Republican candidate Mitt Romney does have a public position on the Scouts' policy -- he politely disagrees with it.
Back in 1994, during a political debate in Massachusetts, Romney said this: "I support the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue. I feel that all people should be able to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation."
A Romney spokeswoman, Andrea Saul, said in an e-mail that this remains Romney's position today.

You may not personally show up every four years, but every four years people of your ilk show up spouting the establishment talking points and are gone shortly after the election. As for Romney’s making lots of money running Bain, that means little.
Bloomberg made more money than Romney has by starting and running Bloomberg L.P. That doesn’t make him a conservative. Nor does it mean he’d be a good president. Larry Ellison also made more money than Romney and shares many of his left wing views. Paul Pelosi is also a liberal and also got rich running a venture capital investment and consulting firm. Shall I name more liberals who made lots of money in business who are as liberal as Romney?
