Bill O'Reilly Predicts Liberal Media Will Give Obama 'About 3% or 4%' in November
NewsBusters ^

At the top of Tuesday's O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, host Bill O'Reilly rightly observed "the American media overwhelmingly favoring Barack Obama over Mitt Romney" and predicted that the slanted news coverage "will give the President about 3% or 4% of the popular vote" in the general election.

O'Reilly cited numerous studies over several years that demonstrated the media predisposition that "clearly favors the more liberal candidate, and has for decades." In 2004, then-assistant managing editor of Newsweek magazine, Evan Thomas, made a prediction remarkably similar to O'Reilly's when he admitted that media bias in favor Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry was "going to be worth maybe 15 points," a number he revised down to five points months later.

On Tuesday, O'Reilly explained the electoral impact of the media being in the tank for the Democratic Party:

...it gives the Democrats a major advantage because their agenda – whether it's bashing Mitt Romney or promoting the President – will be covered far more extensively than the Republican agenda. Second, stories that make the President look bad will be played down in the national press. While anything Mitt Romney does will be described as a gaffe, a mistake or just plane dumb.

A clear example of that can be seen in the refusal by NBC, ABC, and CBS to cover a nasty and false pro-Obama ad that suggests Romney contributed to a woman's death from cancer, while at the same time promoting the President's resurrection of the GOP "war on women" meme.

O'Reilly led the Talking Points Memo segment by referencing a Monday discussion with media critic Bernie Goldberg, who told viewers: "Look, obviously journalists are Barack Obama's most loyal base. They will not abandon him and they've got too much invested in him."

Much of that discussion centered around a Media Research Center study that found that 86% of the network news coverage of Romney's recent overseas trip focused on supposed gaffes and missteps rather than on the substance of the trip itself.

Unfortunately, O'Reilly is right. In a tight race, the media, along with the illegal vote, can give it to obama.

America has had four years to get a clue on this slime slug pig faced criminal. If they need the MSM to NOW tell them the details, they don’t need to vote, just head down to the gulag.

He is correct. I said this when it was clear the elite wanted Romney. Politics aside, he is utterly unlikable and incompetent. And I’ll say yet again . . you think it’s bad now? JUST wait til after Labor Day.

The fact that this is even an issue is all the motivation we should need to avoid giving a single dime to anyone and everyone that gives any support to liberals. Hollywood gives a fundraiser to Obama - don't go see or rent any movie that could profit those involved in the fundraiser. Advertisers support the liberal media - don't buy anything from those advertisers, and make it clear to them why. Your barber, dentist, doctor, anyone who supports them - do not use them anymore. The biggest tool we have is to defund them, in each and every way possible.

I can understand why reporters are often the first to get whacked during revolutions.

The major media is not biased toward the DNC, they are DNC.

The shock is not that the DNC media favors the DNC, but that decade after decade Repubs still look to DNC’s media to get their message out and then feel betrayed when, again, DNC’s media make monkeys of them. Again.

The real danger is all the votes Obama bought with welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, bailouts and other largess. The recipients are dependent and can’t/won’t give it up. Eventually all of this will crash but not before Obama has taken full advantage politically.

The real sad part is, Lil Barry will not need that 3% or 4%. 48% of the American public on the dole translates to 48% of the electorate voting to keep those checks coming. All I know is keep loading, because it is going to get real rough in the next few years.

3-4% is too much. Bill needs a math class.

Way more than that. They only need to ask one or two questions and keep asking them and OBama’s whole house of cards would crumble. If they really did their job and treated Obama anywhere near the way the treated Bush, it would be worth 20% easily.

Bill is off. From most political polls, we know that 30% are liberal nutcakes. The media delivers 8%. Dead bodies deliver another 5%. Illegal immigrants deliver another 5%. Winning requires another 3% through ballot tampering.

It has been said that “you can’t fix stupid”. Stupid is exactly what those who have emersed themselves in MSM “reality” have become.

When stupid becomes the majority, America is done. It looks like that scenario just might be closer than we think.

Oh come on, O'Reilly may be a pompous buffoon and a laughable blowhard, but you're being a little bit hard on him, aren't you?

I look at the Obama, and I see a highly stressed man....a smoker, a fast food junkie, an admitted recreational drug user...my observation, is he can't keep up the pace....watch closely his mannerisms....

How did someone “utterly unlikable and incompetent” start a major hedge fund, buy up companies, revive many of them and make more than $300 million dollars? Are you worth even ONE MILLION dollars? Did you save an olympic games venue that was mired in corruption? Which state were you governor of? I didn’t want Mitt Romney to be our candidate, but get real! Compared to Barack Obama, he’s a dynamo, Henry Ford meets Bill Gates!! When did Mr. Obama ever meet a payroll? When did he manage so much as a small department at Dollar General or a hot dog stand?

That's more than enough the One needs to win in November.

Get use to it, “O” will get another 4 years.

I talked with 4 coworkers yesterday (these are educated folks mind you: engineers, high tech maintenance people) and they parroted the State run Media's talking points the whole time. They are not too thrilled with Obama, but will vote for him because Mittens through people out of work, killed that guy's wife, pays no taxes, etc.... that is what they believe and there is no use trying to tell them otherwise.
