My theory is Joe will never be in a debate because he will be replaced “to spend more time with his family”

Hillary is on a whirlwind round-the-world photo op tour ... pictures with Nelson Mandela etc... farewell to politics ... or campaign fodder?

I’d rather see him demand - up front - that each candidate get to pick 2 moderators.

They’re just trying to keep the 47% happy!

Oh, swell. I can't wait for more time-wasters like ‘coke or pepsi’ and the slanted gems about abortion, gay marriage and immigration reform. These lib moderators have two main goals; impress their newsroom/cocktail crowd friends and embarrass the GOP.

This is totally disgusting. Each campaign has input into the debate format and structure. That the GOP constantly agrees to have moderators who are paid by the DNC is just outrageous and a complete slap in the face to supporters and contributors!

Have you seen those pictures? I don’t think it will be her now that young Mr. Ryan is the GOP VP pick.

What, Ed Shultz, Keef Olberman, and Chris Matthews were busy? They'd have invited Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, except those guys have health issues.

Here will be the typical debate question.

"Mister Romney, it is well-documented that you are a multiple felon, based on your work at Bain Capital. It has been shown that you are a tax-scofflaw that has never once filed your taxes. Bill Burton has demonstrated that you, personally, gave Mrs. Soptic cancer -- cancer that killed her! There are reports that you routinely kill dogs with exposure on the top of your car. Now you have picked a running mate that wants to kill old ladies with a bullet to the forehead using an assault rifle. My question, sir: What makes you so hideously, grotesquely evil?"

Like obama....churches are evolving.....Apparently it didn't bother you that Obama was raised by two Communist fathers of the Islamic faith....I don't recall Romney trashing his country or apologizing for his nation time and again.....some men live their faith, some just use it for show. I am sick of this distraction....I want the economy started on the road to recovery...."fair share" means everyone puts their shoulder to the plow, even the Unions.

If this really is t he pick of moderators, we need to boycott the debates. If this is a joke thread we nee to ask ourselves why it’s so believable...

The Romney/Ryan campaign should look over the list, mention that NONE of the moderators is acceptable and walk away. Don’t understand how we can continually be so freakin’ gullible.

The organization, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan , 501(c)(3) corporation, sponsored all the presidential debates in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008.

The "Leadership" of this 'non-partisan' group is as follows;
Co-Chairmen

The current debate set-up allows for “no one the mop the floor” against the opposing opponent. The moderator can shut down any rational point then begin to editorialize and filibuster the event.

We need debates where candidates can talk for long periods of time about a given subject and be only interrupted if they stray off the topic. Also, the candidate themselves should only ask the questions, not an arrogant news reader/partisan pundit (Even though moderators might not think they are).

I really don't understand why the two parties don't each choose 2 moderators. Toss a coin, one party goes first -- "Democrats choose Chris Matthews" "Okay, Republicans choose ... ummm ... we choose Mark Levin." "Democrats choose Rachel Madow." "Well, we choose Rush Limbaugh."

I'm with you - either we do it fair or we don't show up. None of us buy the MSM crap about them being 'objective'. The liberal press hates us - they work for the DNC and are paid in 'inside stories'...

Lehrer and Schieffer?

Maybe Mitt wanted to present an image of youth and vigor compared to them?

Romney should refuse to show up, same as a Republican showing up for a debate put on by the League of Women
Vipers!

Lost before they enter the room!!!

The “Commission on Presidential Debates” was set up to always give the democrats an advantage. And if a republican nonminee refused to go along with them, the democrat would accuse the repubican of refusing to debate and the republican would cave.

So the commission gets to pick whoever they want because they are never challenged. Only Gingrich would have challenged them.

On the plus side, Romney has been to like thirty debates this year, Obama, zero (but I repeat myself). Romney should have Gingrich play the democrat or the moderator or both, teach Romney how to cream them.

Yeah Hillary these days is looking like she’s been rode hard and put away wet

But she is the democrat party’s great white hope to seal the women’s vote, capture the foolish young who will be wowed by electing first female VP (with a black potus to boot), “moderates”, and the democrat base

who will in their minds be voting again for “Bill” Clinton and the Clinton boom economy (sans Newt Gingrich, oh never mind)

Bill Clinton is their greatest president since FDR and getting Hillary even close to the WH is his 3rd term

watch for it
