Gov. Chris Christie, who has electrified GOP audiences in appearances across the country, will deliver the keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa this month, party leaders will announce Tuesday.
In a statement obtained by The Star-Ledger, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said the brash governor, an early supporter of Mitt Romney, is the right choice to rally the party in the effort to defeat President Obama

Christi will speak...Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Sarah Palin will not speak. Lame. I probably won’t be watching.
Trump endorsed Obama in 2008. Don’t be surprised if before November he decided he will endorse Obama again. They usually do.
I guess it’s pretty much declared that the Convention will be a conservative-free zone.
This is a good move. I think I heard that Obama is polling under 50 percent in New Jersey. It’s a stretch, I know, but with Christie speaking it might sway some more Jersey voters to Romney.
Yes... 4x8 posts, 16” apart, with two layers of 1” luan. That should do it. Hopefully Candy Crowley won`t waddle up there to get a post-speech interview.
Speaking of The Portly Man, imagine him as the nominee.. with Mike Huckabee as the “running” mate.
I certainly don’t agree with some of the things Christie has done - such as the judges he has appointed, but, I will say this - that man can talk, and will take it to the DEMS in no uncertain terms. He isn’t a conservative by any means, however, he is great for the state of NJ.
Its possible he just might sway some DEMS to vote for Romney. I think the residents of the Garden State like their governor. I love to hear him rip some people a new butt hole. (can I say that on here?)
You mean the fat, Muslim Brotherhhod supporting, RINO from NJ?
Gov. Crispy Cream of NJ is absolutely the wrong OPTIC for the party. He will represent a party which is out of touch with starving poor people.
