4) He knows their efforts to do such things would be met with heavy resistance so he is hoping he can demoralize us enough to have an effect that is positive for his liberal side. Fat chance!

And if the fedgov pushes that hard, they had better expect rule 308 in return.

Agreed. If our side has any failure, it's the lack of any coherent "line in the sand."

Of course, that's not to say one could not crystalize VERY quickly given an agenda like the one listed.

To do that in the media, they would need to silence talk radio, the internet, and FOX.

If they do that, under any pretext(s), it will be a signal that Hugo Chavez Time has begun, and the contract (1st Amd) has been busted apart.

My 16-year-old daughter saw this on Memebase.com: “The second amendment is more important that the first amendment, because if you have a gun, you can say anything you want.”

Even today’s teens “get” this.

If she was up to the standard of some notable former FR trolls, perhaps. But she can’t even stay up with a line of reasoning.

Bluto's right. Psychotic... but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!

Stripes?

I suspect it won’t be sold or presented as a “hard push”. They’ll propagandize it for all its worth....

Propaganda, while both effective and pernicious, is not determinative. It does have limits. And I think a survey of America's "gun culture" over the last hundred years is a pretty good indicator of those limitations.

People forget how strong the idea of freedom is. Firearms are just one tool to maintain it. The will to freedom is more important than the technical details of how to maintain it.

Amen X 1,000. I’d rather make a team out of 20 motivated Boy Scouts with no guns than 20 slugs with guns.

I’d have the Souts disarming the slugs in no time. And there are millions with more skills than I possess.

Not so sure about that. I think if the Feds over step themselves, they will see a combination of resistance. Not just gun/freedom nuts like FReepers and Oathkeepers, but Sheriffs and a few Governors as well. Not to mention defection from the military ranks as they increasingly violate Posse Comitatus.

It isn't going to be fast. It may well take years. Let's hope that IF it gets to that point, for the swiftest restoration of our Constitutional Republic and the ouster of the Socialist "democracy" we are currently under the thumb of. The longer this drags out, the more needless bloodshed there will be.

This is why the gun grabbers incessantly push the gun show loophole myth.

If they can control your property and control the buying of that property they have everything locked up.

They still need to get people who purchase guns years ago to divulge what they have, but they will be cooking up a scam to justify that soon enough.

What you apparently fail to understand is that the reason that our troops are being kept out of the country is because they will refuse to turn on their fellow Americans.

Logic simply IS. Facts are stubborn things... Repetitive application of the two drive ‘em nuts. ;-)

There's not a week that goes by that my three year old daughter doesn't pine for the time when she's "big enough to go shooting with daddy."

Though I'm not exactly sure she knows what that means ;o)

Finding this picture on my phone is what started it all:

I never, for a moment, ever believed they HAD consciences.

How could anyone who justifies murdering infants, murdering the elderly, stealing from one person to bribe another, etc., etc., HAVE a conscience?

What they believe in, and how they live their lives precludes having anything remotely resembling a moral base or conscience.

We need to remember that when dealing with them - and deal with them at that same level if the time comes.

No, we know exactly what the government has; we built it, we were employed by it, we engineered it, we trained it, we supplied it, we created it.

Right on. And more importantly, we are the IT staff who maintain it.

As programmers, we control their software. As DBAs, we control their data. As systems administrators, we control their servers. They do nothing unless we allow it. They are deaf, dumb, and blind without us.

So to your point, Lady Lucky, that 90% of us won't hear anything in the first 24 hours ... realize that the IT staff will know of any such plans in advance. The first wave of our defense against such actions, will be software-based. So the warning will go out in advance.
