That is one of the only hopes they have left, even if it would mean that Obama’s original decision would come into question. If the Democrats were going to dump Biden, they would have done so by now (I'll bet, however, in hindsight, they wish they had.) To get rid of him at this late stage in the campaign would be seen as an act of sheer desperation by a campaign that knows it's in big trouble. I think the Obama team will stay the course, but try to limit Biden’s exposure from this point forward.
