Duluth, MN (Northlands NewsCenter) -- Minnesota district 7B Representative Kerry Gauthier is at the center of a criminal investigation by Duluth police. This is a particularly sensitive situation right now as incumbent lawmaker Gauthier will face Republican challenger Travis Silvers in November.
Police will only confirm that Representative Gauthier involved in an incident the Thompson Hill rest stop last month.

Police spokespeople say they are conducting a criminal investigation but they refuse to say why Gauthier was arrested.
However well placed sources today told the Northland's NewsCenter, the incident involved a 17 year old boy with whom Gauthier was reportedly engaged in a sexual act.

Our sources say Representative Gauthier met the young man on Craig's List and that police are investigating the potential that money changed hands which could make it a criminal matter.

It also was with a minor, which would be another criminal offence.
They use ‘Rep.’ in the story, hoping that dumbass dems will read that as ‘Republican’...........
Yes. Particularly sensitive not because this creep has his pants down with a 17-year-old boy in a public restroom off I-35, but because he’s a Democrat running for re-election.
God help Minnesota.
The story indicates that the age of consent in MN is 16 so for this purpose it wasn’t a minor.
As a famous Louisiana pol once bragged, “The only way I can lose this election is if I’m caught in bed with either a dead girl or a live boy”.
Even that may not make a difference.
Does he get to claim the Sandusky trophy?
8^D
I asked if simply saying "democrat" instead of Minnesota district 7B Representative was any shorter? He responded that there was no bias in the story and that he was not trying to slant anything.
I asked why he did not simply put the same description of "Challenger to Minnesota district 7B" for the republican ? He again mentioned the non-bias angle. He said he would update the story on their website and informed me he has only been a reporter for 13 months.
So there you have it, new guy in media with bias reporting thinking it is main stream.
“I get the feeling your joke zipped over some heads.”
Wow. That’s even worse than mine. You have my admiration.
Wow he really blew his chance to get re-elected.
Maybe he was just glad-handing a constituent. Oh wait it couldnt be the kid wasnt 18.
So in DEMOCRATLAND, a rest area is where you go to pay a boy for a blow job. Al Franken must rest on his laurels.
bias bkmk
Probably more accurate to say that the 17 year old boy blew Gauthier's chance to get reelected, but I doubt it. Gauthier's a Democrat. Bet his constituents reelect him, even if Gauthier were to get convicted before Election Day. Laws are for little people and Republicans.
Good for you! Maybe we all need to do what you did and call out every similar biased story in every local rag in the nation.
I remember back in 2006 that a Florida Republican, Mark Foley was crucified for supposedly sending inappropriate messages to some young Congressional pages.
The Democrats, the NY Times, Wash Post and all the TV news stations started the culture of corruption theme.
Huh? It's right there in the headline: "Rep. Kerry Gauthier."
≤}B^)
This ingrained media bias is never surprising anymore.
But it never ceases to be shocking.
Now he can run for a seat in Congress and secure a leadership position in the democrat party. If he wants to run for president, he needs to do coke, eat dogmeat, hang out with a gang of users and find a domestic terrorist to write his autobiography.
