Mark Davis’s problem is that he is so condescending.
He is a good radio talent, but he is not that conservative and he is a condescending schmuck.

Also he takes his radio skills over the top, and wear them out.
I hate the way he makes sound effect noises and pats himself on the back all the time.

I think Urbanski is right about Romney.
Folks here at FR are far to quick to paint him with the sins of Massachusetts.

He was the Governor of a deep blue state, he had to do the bidding of his constituents, yet he vetoed over 700 bills in his term.

If he was Governing Texas there would have never been a “romneycare” which would be more appropriately called “Masshole care”.

Ma is the land of Teddy Kennedy, Barney Frank and John Kerry who served in Vietnam if I recall.

Mark Davis’s problem is that he is so condescending.

Davis is a snoozefest filling in for Rush, but for some reason, he works better as the Friday guy on Bill Bennett's morning show (Bennett only hosts M-Th). On the anniversary of the Apollo XI moon landing, he did a brilliant retrospective of NASA and the manned space program: hopefully he'll replay parts of that show when it's appropriate.

Steyn never gets time for show prep, and is not by nature a radio guy. He does remarkably well for a fellow that just gets the 3 AM call up.

Most of the time Mark Steyn knows he has an upcoming job subbing for Rush. He has plenty of time for show prep. Yes, I am aware of a few times where he got a last minute call to sub for Rush but this is the exception. When Steyn gets really revved up he's like Alvin and the Chipmunks on helium
