Just released, a Marine Veteran, Brandon Raub who served in Iraq and Afghanistan was taken by FBI and Secret Service agents around 7 p.m. on August 15, 2012 for his patriotic non-violent Facebook postings.
According to his mother on a radio talk show hosted by Josh Tolley, she said, “He was handcuffed, was not read his rights…I want that to be heard very clear. He was not read his rights…he was handcuffed, put in the back seat in Chesterfield County, Virginia police department vehicle. And um, he was taken to…directly to John Randall Psychiatric Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia and that is where he is right now.”
“Now what I was told by an FBI Agent, her name is Sargent...I’m sorry, Agent Sherry Granger…she called me on my phone and told me that I am with the FBI and we have taken your son. And he has been arrested by the Chesterfield police department because he assaulted and resisted arrest. He assaulted an officer and resisted arrest is what she told me and he’s been arrested and taken to the Chesterfield police department.”

Someone has been watching too many police TV shows. You are not read your rights when you are arrested...unless they want to question you.
He can consider himself lucky he was not killed.
How exactly does one get arrested for resisting arrest? As for assaulting an officer: let me guess, it’s their word against his. And the fine Men In Blue would never lie. They might go to someone’s house, uninvited, but they would never lie about being assaulted.
The DemocRATS are really losing it. Touchy, touchy, touchy. The hysteria is setting in. Ever wonder what that loony lib was intending to do with those 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches he took on his shooting spree? I think I’ve got a good idea of what he was planning to do with them.
Furthermore, if the FBI decides to take someone to a mental hospital, does that mean an automatic removal of the person’s RKBA, for involuntary commitment? (Can it be challenged?)

Sorry, but there is not information to know exactly what is going on here. That said, the direct removal to a psychiatric hospital is strange. That’s what the Soviets did to some of their dissidents, Then again, Chesterfield VA is a fairly conservative community,unlikely to lock someone up merely for dissing Washington. This story needs to be followed closely. But I would not rush to judgment just yet.

If this happened at all, it wasn’t due to his Facebook posts. Checked earlier today and he had absolutely nothing unusual or objectionable on his page. Yes, he’s a Paulite, but there was nothing violent. He might have done something entirely unrelated to public postings that got him arrested. The story we heard earlier was that the Secret Service and FBI arrested him; now it’s the Chesterfield County cops. OK. It’s just conceivable that he had been a bad boy in some more typical way. I’m not going to get hysterical yet.
I saw nothing about Facebook. Nothing.
