Who Isn’t Calling for Akin’s Withdrawal? Claire McCaskill & Planned Parenthood.
NRO Campaign Spot ^ | 08/21/2012 | Jim Geraghty

Hey, if Todd Akin’s remarks are so shameful (and they are) and his ignorance of topics he would seek to legislate is an embarrassment (and it is)… what are we to make of the recent comments from his rival, Sen. Claire McCaskill?

McCaskill issued supportive remarks about Akin on Monday, saying she and Akin “disagree on some things, but he is sincere.”

“While I disagree with what he said, he has now in the last few hours really apologized for what he said. I think what is startling to me is that these party bigwigs are coming down on him and saying that he needs to kick sand in the face of the Republican primary voters,” she said.

McCaskill: Akin is sincere and has really apologized. Leave him alone (so I can get re-elected).

LOL!

They want to keep him there to beat him.

Woman candidate would narrow the gender gap. State is a prime pick up seat.

Oh I don’t know, there are some hardheads here that agree with McCaskill and Planned Parenthood that Akin should stay in.

McCackle is offering radio stations a news clip of her saying, “The GOP primary voters have spoken and Akin is the candidate.”

Need anyone guess why ?

I'm pretty stunned at some who still support this idiot and are willing to go down with the ship for an intellectually bankrupt back bencher.

She’s also the one who wants to strike down the Constitutional requirements for POTUS. That tells all anyone needs to know about her.

Make lemonade out of lemons. Once the new candidate is chosen the GOP should have a commercial, which first shows Ted Kennedy's Oldsmobile in the Chappaquidick drink and then hin attending Mary Jo's funeral with that fake neck brace, then show Barney Frank's face with the caption that a male prostitution ring was run out of his apartment, then Bill Clinton hugging Monica, and then show Joe Biden with his chains comment.

Then the narration, did Claire McKaskill call for these people from her own party to resign? The answer is probably no. We at the GOP do the right thing when one of ours messes up, what about Claire McKaskill's democrats.

The best posting of the week.
This is an organized plan to keep Harry Reid running blockade for Obama.
It has nothing to do with right to life, abortion or rape.

If Atkins can’t figure this out, he us unqualified for the Senate.

“This is more evidence of when policy makers are literally legislating about women’s health and they don’t have the most basic understanding particularly of women’s reproductive care. This is perfect evidence of that enormous danger.” --Cecile Richards
Akin surely has "the most basic understanding" of unborn life v. unborn death. Cecile Richards, however, brings ENORMOUS DANGER to women and children through her abortion "services." What a horrible eternity in hell awaits her, if she doesn't convert.

I can give you a laundry list of politicians who have made stupid statements, including the current occupant of the WH. This has less to do with substance than it does with gaining a political advantage. In the politically correct world we now live in, any statement that even hints at disparaging women, gays, race, and ethnicity invokes a torrent of phony outrage and overblown rhetoric.

And Reps are held to a much different standard than those in the Evil Party. Can anyone imagine a Rep Senator who was a former Klan wizard? Or be allowed to stay in office after talking about “white ni***ers” on national television? Or a senator who left a girl to die in a car he was driving during a drunken foray in the MA night. He waited a long time to report the incident, more concerned about preserving his political career than saving the girl’s life. Or in the case of a race baiter like Al Sharpton whose escapades included inciting mob violence that killed two people. Or a sitting President who was a sexual predator that involved sex with interns in the WH, raping a woman, and exposing himself to an employee in AK while governor. None of the above have been banished from the public scene. Quite the contrary, they have been lionized and elevated in both position and power.

Akins committed no crime or indiscretion. He made an inartful statement and apologized immediately for it. The fact that he now faces political exile says more about the society we live in than Akin the man who by all appearances has led an exemplary life. This is just a lynching in the court of (manufactured) public opinion.

Intellectually bankrupt? You mean his 97.24 ACU rating?

I missed it. Were they waterboarding him until he would say something incredibly moronic? Or was this self immolation...

My grandma taught me to never blame somebody else for your own stupidity. There is nobody to blame here except Akin

Big difference between pressing a button (like a monkey) and intellectually articulating conservative ideology and principles.

He has lost 10 million dollars from the moneychangers in Washington. He might be a great conservative, but if him staying costs the seat that would have decided Obamacare, history will not remember he was a great conservative.

McCaskill’s claim that Akin is sincere is evidence that he is deliberately trying to throw the election. Akin is a 6 term Congressman, and cannot be assumed to be stupid or inexperienced. Given that the Democrats stole trillions from the US taxpayers and that huge sums have been squirreled away in slush funds, how much is it worth to them to keep control of the Senate?

Nope.

It is further evidence that McCaskill has the opponent that she wanted and is now concerned that she may have to face someone from the GOP side that is more competitive than Akin. It was obvious even during the primary season that Akin was the candidate she wanted to face in November.
