#MOSen: moved the race to Likely Democrat. As long as Akin is running, it is unwinnable for Republicans. If he exits, it's back to Toss Up.

You do you have to give credit to McCaskill and the Democrats for picking their opponent and just watching for Akin to blow up.

The Dems had nothing to lose by running a dirty race and nothing to run on so they spent a wad getting him the slot, it’s what they do best, next to steal votes.. talk about a gimme.. ClothesPin happens.

What goes around comes around. I’m sure we can find some Democrat running in a primary somewhere who makes Al Franken seem stable by comparison. And we’re gonna make sure he has the biggest Primary war chest EVER!

Guess we’d better get used to Obamacare...

Considering how low down and dirty the dems are, it would not surprise me if Akin has received threats by the democraps / Chicago mob to not drop out. Stay in and stay healthy.

We need to pick up 3 seats to get to 50. VP Ryan would serve as the 51st vote to repeal Ocare. We should be able to get the seats we need from N. Dakota (Dorgan), Nebraska (Nelson), Mass (Brown). Connie Mack is up in Florida. I still don’t see a problem.

Brown is not pick up, and I’m still not convinced he will win, Massachusetts voters and all.
To: drypowder
More likely they have dirt on him that they’re threatening to release, maybe he likes bathrooms in the same fashion as Larry Craig did, who knows, in anycase, if they do, they’ll only hold off until the 25th of September has passed and then they’ll unload everything into him.
At this point, he’ll do very well to lose by less than 15 points.

F’ing asshole. I hate Akin with a passion for being so selfish.
On the other hand, a potential hurricane may hit Tampa next week....so the GOP may have enough problems already during the convention.

Can anyone show me an electoral college scenario where Obama takes Missouri’s 10 electoral votes, yet still loses? Or where Claire McCaskill wins re-election, yet Harry Reid is no longer Senate Majority Leader? Didn’t think so.

we are also up by a couple points in Michigan. However, Mack is losing to Nelson by 7 in Fl.
If we can pick up WI, NB, ND, MI, VA, OH, and hold on to MA and assume ME is lost, then we would have 51.

The problem is that the Missouri race should be in the likely pickup column for the GOP, and this guy Akin just ruined it with his stupid comments, and then his refusal to get out.
This is Nevada 2010 all over again. In a contested, 3-way primary, the GOP manages to pick the one person who can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Twitter is a new media source. Short and to the point. And who checks those Twit statements?
If it's a source shouldn't someone verify it?
So Twits can state any damned outrageous thing they wish and it's "a source"?
Good luck with that, I just read a Twit claiming Godzilla is decimating Uranus.
Must be true, huh? Watch out for those Twits, they will tear a big hole in Uranus.

Last polls from Rasmussen and SurveyUSA about a month agho had Mack up by 9 and 6, respectively. I highly doubt he’s lost about 15 points in that time.

Realclear Politics has 9 toss up states, 6 Dem and 3 Rep.
If all the “leaners” hold their places, we would need to win all 9 toss ups just to get to 50.
And that includes MO.

I disagree. The MSM will beat this drum until the election. Every Republican candidate will be asked whether he/she agrees that there are "legitimate" rapes and therefor there is such a thing as an illegitimate rape. They will be asked if they agree with his cracked theory of biology. They will be asked repeatedly about abortion in rape cases.
This will be used to get us completely off message and on the defensive. This is the most important election since 1980 and that moron has to go for the good of the country.
To: colorado tanker
I don’t get this. Why can’t the republican party of Missouri just dump him? He is not the party, he is its representative.

He won the primary. The only way to get him off the ticket is if he voluntarily withdraws.
The only way to get him out would be to run a good candidate on a third party ticket or a write-in campaign, but that would just guaranty McGaskill the seat.
