In a late summer surge, U.S. Sen. Scott Brown has jumped to a 5 point lead in a new poll in his race for re-election.

Public Policy Polling places Brown in the lead over his Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren 49-44 percent. This is the same poll that placed Warren ahead by 5 points in March.

Doesn't Warren get a 5 point freebie for being native american?

I think Brown will prevail. Brown ran a "lightning" race in 2010, six weeks before that special election, nobody knew who he was and he was something like 30 points down to Coakley. For those last six weeks, Brown ran a flawless, aggressive campaign and Coakley had no idea what hit her.

For this current election, Brown's been keeping a low profile, letting Elizabeth Warren get on the nerves of the Massachusetts voters. However, in the last 6-8 weeks, I look for a similar Brown blitz. Warren has given him a lot of ammo to use these past few months!

From the “You make me dizzy Mizz Lizzie” collection:

“No, as I said, these are my family stories. I have lived in a family that has talked about Native Americans, talked about tribes since I had been a little girl,” she said. “I still have a picture on my mantel and it is a picture my mother had before that - a picture of my grandfather. And my Aunt Bea has walked by that picture at least a 1,000 times remarked that he - her father, my Papaw — had high cheek bones like all of the Indians do. Because that is how she saw it and your mother got those same great cheek bones and I didn’t. She that thought was the bad deal she had gotten in life.”

“Being Native American has been part of my story, I guess, since the day I was born,” Warren continued.

Yeah, he’ll win. He passes as a “Republican” in the Northeast and ole Warren here has a better chance of opening an Indian casino than beating Brownie.

The faulty theme about winning the Senate depends only on Akin is just silly. Akin’s misspoken words will not be what lets the Dems win in November, but it will be their Marxist policies and bankrupted ideas what will makes them losers.

Her cheekbones do. The rest of her, not so much.

They had the same Marxist policies and bankrupted ideas in 2008.

So the faux Indian might not take the disgraced Kennedy family Senate seat.

I’m glad I lived long enough.

Warren is certainly a liberal loonie legend.
That commie Doonesbury is pimping for her like crazy in the comics.
Would love to see her soundly thrashed on election night.

Would also love for Brown to ask her “Have your adult children used the Native American designation for college admission and scholarships, and job applications? And can you provide copies to verify that?”

They had the same Marxist policies and bankrupted ideas in 2008.

They've got ownership of the Federal government this time, and under Obama's Marxist policies, they get to reap and realize the "rewards" in their march towards Marxism. The difference.

Can't trust Indians with ammo.

I like Scott Brown, as much as people complain about the guy, he’s the sort of Republican that can win in the Northeast and while he might not be there for all the issues, he’ll be there on a lot of them. He’s very laidback, disarming and he plays politics like a pro. His big advantage over Warren is that he’s actually from the area, he knows the people, he knows the culture, the traditions, one of the earlier storylines was that he was showing up at various local events, even in area’s where people aren’t likely to vote for him, glad-handing everyone while Warren was nowhere to be seen.

He’s basically giving people no reason to dislike him, even if they oppose him, he’s not polarizing and that is what it takes to win in Massachusetts.

it doesn’t make up for it. It’s still a net loss of one senate seat that was, until a few days ago, locked up for us.

Crying over spilled milk doesn’t clean it up any faster. Republicans will just have to make the other races that much more important.

Akin is only running for 1 out of the 23 Democrat Senate caucus seats that they are defending. I highly doubt that the Dims will hold the Senate no matter how the Missouri Senate race goes, and I don’t think that race is nowhere near being conceded back to the Dims.

Good!

Warren is sounding more and more wacko (and like a total obamabot) all the time, and perhaps even the people of MA are getting it!!!!
