President Barack Obama says convincing doubters that he is a Christian isn't part of his job description. Mitt Romney tells skeptics of his faith: "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of mankind" and pleads for tolerance.
The two White House contenders addressed the issue of persistent questioning of their religious beliefs as part of a wide-ranging exchange with Washington National Cathedral's Cathedral Age. The magazine asked Obama and Romney to weigh in on the role of faith in public life and politics as well as in their personal lives.
Public opinion polls have repeatedly found large numbers of Americans who say they think Obama, a practicing Christian, is secretly a Muslim. And some conservative Christian groups reject Romney's Mormon faith.
So "how do you respond" to those who "have questioned the sincerity of your faith and your Christianity?" the magazine asked.
"You know, there's not much I can do about it," Obama said.

Here's a small excerpt from the first article:
In 2004 Obama was interviewed by Cathleen Falsani of the Chicago Sun-Times. He told her that Christians "may presume a set of doctrines" that "I don't necessarily subscribe to." Elaborating, he trivialized the core of the Christian faith by which believers live: "If all it took was someone proclaiming I believe [in] Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins, and that's all there was to it, people wouldn't have to keep coming to church, would they." Immediately Falsani asked him if he believes in heaven, and the skeptic mocked: "Do I believe in the harps and clouds and wings?" "I don't presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die," or whether rewards for one's conduct will be in this life only or in a hereafter. He identified "heaven" with feeling that he cares for his daughters and that they are learning from him his mother's values. In the same way, sin - inconsistency with his values - is "its own punishment."[13]

In the light of the foregoing we can better discern from Obama's statements what he actually thinks about Jesus. According to Falsani's transcript, when she asked Obama, "Who's Jesus to you?" he laughed nervously and replied: "Right. Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he's also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher. And he's also a wonderful teacher. I think it's important for all of us, of whatever faith,to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history."[38]
Nobama has communicated quite well what and who he is.
“Mitt Romney tells skeptics of his faith: “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of mankind”
Not the whole story, as usual.
Romney's definition of Jesus, God, and Savior is totally different than orthodox Christianity and the Scripture; and I don't mean the book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price.
1 Pet 3:15
Real Christians don’t have to “convince” folks they are Christians. Jesus said that His disciples would be known by two things: Their love for the brethren, and their fruits.
So - using that, lets measure up President Obama...
Elaborating, he trivialized the core of the Christian faith by which believers live: "If all it took was someone proclaiming I believe [in] Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins, and that's all there was to it, people wouldn't have to keep coming to church, would they."
That is a display of astounding ignorance on so many levels it would take a doctoral thesis to examine them all. It should be obvious to all, Christian and non-Christian alike, that that is a rejection of the very basis of Christianity. It also reveals that he has Zer0 understanding of ANY and EVERY spiritual path.
His ego is one for the record books. Narcissus, you have been dethroned!
Amen. I have absolutely no doubt that he does not love or serve the Lord. His answers in that interview reveal his heart to those who do know the Lord. When asked who Jesus is to me, I most certainly would not refer to him as a historical figure. He is my Lord and Saviour.
Saviour = Savior
“Unfortunately, part of Mormon Bishop Romney’s mission in running for president, is that he does want to persuade the world that his religion is Christian.”
So you would prefer 4 more years of an America-hating Muslim-hiding-in-plain sight than a patriotic American who happens to be a mormon.
God save America from 4 more years of BO.
The same childish emotional outburst every time you hear anything about Mitt that isn’t praise, why bother posting such repetitive, child like exclamations over and over.
By the way, who told you that the draft evading Romney, from a family that has evaded military service during their entire 170 history in America, is “patriotic”?
Well, in THIS he is doing a good job. i absolutely do not believe he is a Christian. he has succeeded in convincing me he is NOT a Christian. inthink he is a homosexual moslem.
And one that doesn’t bathe or know how to spell.
Actually, he didn't. He and Roberts "flubbed" the public oath and the one that was administered in private was not on a Bible.
