Want to know why the Republican Party is in such trouble? I believe it comes down to one word: courage.
When Democrats misspeak, we make them vice president. When Republicans misspeak, Republicans are the first in line to throw them under the bus.
When Rep. Todd Akin stood for protecting all innocent human life in a recent interview, he used a word with more than one meaning. He used the word legitimate before the word rape to mean real, forcible, a tragic event that really took place. .......
But because legitimate could also modify the word rape, some in the Republican Party are practically writing Willie Horton ads about it, pretending that the congressman is pro-rape and wants to let rapists out on furlough. This interpretation of the congressmans words doesnt resemble reality, and everyone knows it.
If Republicans love their country, they will quit using fiction to shoot their own and focus on the real enemies of life: Democrats Claire McCaskill and Barack Obama, who stand for legally sucking the brains out of half-born babies in a procedure called partial-birth abortion.
In America, we shouldnt kill people for the crimes of their father. And in politics, we shouldnt kill statesmen for a badly worded sound bite.
Thankfully, there are men and women of courage who stand with Rep.Akin, founder of National and International Right to Life, Dr. Jack Willke said:
Congressman Todd Akin remains a strong and courageous pro-life leader and awkward wording in one sound-bite doesnt negate that. Of course, Congressman Akin never used the word legitimate to refer to the rapist.
Its time for Republican leaders to rise to the level of Rep. Todd Akins principle and courage and stand with him and the Republican platform that stands for the protection of every human life.

I support the rape, incest and life of the mother exception, nomad.
Some would say that makes me a baby murderer, nomad.
I don’t agree with akin on that issue, and I don’t agree with what he said.
However, I respect his right to believe as he does, I respect him for standing up for his beliefs, and I respect him for his lack of cowardice.
I would vote for him if I could.
Now please, make some more wrong assumptions about me whilst in your state of frenzy.
First he said conception, not miscarriage. And secondly, you know how subjective studies of that type are? What stress factors were involved? What levels did they manifest themselves at? Were there extraneous factors such as genetics or environment? The list goes on and on. Yes, lets split hairs to defend another lethal brain-farter just because he supports our pet cause. Whats next from him, an SBD?
Couerge = Throwing away what is likely the deciding vote in the Senate to rid of us of national health care. Yeah. Let’s rock.
Yes, you are, like many others, and I can see that you didn’t even read what I posted to you.
You are evidence that mind control works. That’s all I can tell you at this point.
You’re misquoting him. Where in this text do you find the word, or even the idea, of conception?
Akin: “If its a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut the whole thing down. But lets assume that maybe that didnt work or something: I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be of the rapist, and not attacking the child
Second, I know of no studies on anything that are perfect? Why? Humans are involved. We all bring our own pair of glasses to everything we look at. Even you. That’s why there is peer review. And that’s why there’s free speech. We sort it out by talking it out. If you want to find flaws in the studies I presented, fine. Present them, so the entire class will know how bad those studies are. I wait with bated breath.
