Liberal Hate and It Thinks It Knows God

Speaking with a long-time Liberal friend of mine tonight, and though he has to tell why abortion under any circumstances is just a matter of the woman's choice, he also has to tell me that maybe the track that hurricane Issac is making is "God's telling us something", and he corrected it to "God's telling the Republicans something".

I can only say "disgusting" because my mouth should not speak all else I would say.

If the storm continues tracking west as it is forecast to do it will brush Tampa and with winds forecast at around 85 mph (near the eye), Tampa being on the fringe will experience rain and some higher wind gusts consistent with a tropical storm.

It's a non event for Fla as they deal with this sort of thing continually this time of year and it certainly won't cause an interruption in the Convention.

If the track changes then of course all of what I say goes out the window but the latest report describes the storm as being “ragged” and undefined.

Exactly like Agnes and Katrina ~ which means it’s too early to know.

Given the propensity for the weather media to massively over hype any tropical disturbance to absurd proportions in their forecasting, using words such as “could”, “possibly”, may strengthen”, I'm not concerned.

Latest from the weather service just 5 minutes ago calls for the storm to “not strengthen past a cat 1 and what this means to me is it won't even be that but remain a tropical storm and barely brush the west coast of Fla (it's turning more north and west). Perhaps Tampa will get 40-5- mph winds and a lot of rain but it won't be a big deal.

Besides the worst case scenario as far as the Convention goes is they move it although it will take a lot more then this nothing of a storm to do that. This is all about keeping interest at a fever pitch by over hyping these things.

hmm ~ a doubter ~ you know even the meekest and mildest of hurricanes can decide to stop and rain on you for weeks ~ and there really is a limit to how much water a given piece of ground can handle.

None of them are kittens!

Sure I'm a doubter. The weather service can't get the local weather right 2 days in advance and I'm supposed to get myself worked up over a storm not expected to hit for 3 days and even then it has 5 different track possibilities and isn't even well formed.

Not saying it cannot become a problem it's just that after crying wolf at the slightest tropical depression one gets weary. You do realize that before last year the weather service never named tropical storms but decided to do so in order to increase the fear factor and garner more followers.

It's all about them wanting to be noticed so to do so they become one of the “Hey look at me” crowd.

Sure, right ~ it's all a political power play ~ in the meantime you come within range of the weather system that hurricane is nestled in a few days in advance of its arrival, if any.

You need several days advance warning of the possibility of a hurricane to be properly prepared for it. Else you might as well be some poor family in Haiti living in a tent.

I"ve been through many hurricanes over the years right here in the DC area. They are all different but some of them are just DIFFERENTER and they deliver devastating amounts of rainfall. I"ve even experienced a hurricane in Indiana way back in the late 1950s! It rained for a month. My hometown, Indianapolis was not in fear of any winds with that storm BUT over 100,000 culverts were up ended and washed out.

This is the one type of storm you don't outguess.

You are misinterpeting my feelings. I am not against keeping the public informed on a regular basis with the details of what is known of the developing storm or if it is developing, etc. What I am against is the hysteria we see, the breathless headlines and they all seem to be about whether the convention will be cancelled.

Let the idiotic news services stick to REPORTING rather than speculating about political events as if they were more important than potential storm damage.

Like Joe Friday used to say, “I want the facts, just the facts”

BTW, the models changed ~ the storm moved East a bit but that doesn't matter. These Florida hurricanes are noteworthy for spitting out tornados, and those puppies can do what they want an awful long way from the main part of the storm.

No one should ever feel comfortable around a hurricane.

I had a friend from high school I had recently reconnected with, and we had “friended” each other on FB.

A couple weeks ago, contrary to all the other FB stuff she had posted, she hit her NewsFeed with a pro-Obama campaign poster.

I immediately “unfriended” her (once I fgiured out how to do it).

I have been curious though - is the “Friend” who is “unFriended” told about the action, in any way; such as “so-and-so is no longer Friends with...X”.

What has always mystified me with some of my most Liberal friends, who all know I am not a Liberal, is they will throw out a joke, that is really an “inside” joke running around the Liberal menatal soup, and they’ll even chuckle a bit, as they tell it to me, as if what I am supposed to do will be either (a) laugh with them, (b) say nothing and don’t react at all, but certainly not (c) strongly counter the premise of the “joke”.

Then, if I do chose (c), the reaction is like “jeesh, can’t you take a joke”; when, they know the purpose of telling ME the joke is not to make me laugh, but to sell it’s premise to me.

Yet, if the shoe were on the other foot, if I brought all my “inside” Conservative jokes into our convesations, they would whip out option (c) faster than greased lightning, with the attitue of “what in $%%$# is the matter with you”.

Yet, also, they know I never do that.

In sum, they often enough attempt to challenge our friendship with their snide “humor” directed at Conservatives, while I most often have put our friendship first, knowing they cannot be moved out of their indoctrinated mindset.

In some circles I may not even be “Conservative enough” for some Conservative friends, but it is only in the Liberal mental soup that I encounter what G-d teaches us is hate, true and abiding hate. I think that speaks to the basis, in G-dless Marxism from whence has come so much of what they believe as “Liberalism”.
