Nineteen people were shot in attacks across the South and West sides between about 5:20 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 a.m. Friday - including 13 people during a single 30-minute period - according to the Chicago Police Department.
The shootings peaked between about 9:15 and 9:45 p.m. Thursday when 13 people were shot, including eight in a single incident at 79th Street and Essex Avenue about 9:30 p.m.
Police are still trying to sort out that shooting, the second of three incidents that left multiple people wounded since 8 p.m.

Amazing how some spectacular failures can be promoted from one catastrophic failure to another. Hopefully, this ends in November.

Mayor Rahm danced into the controversy after Alderman Proco Joe Moreno (1st ward) had publicly announced his opposition to Chick-Fil-A opening in his ward.
Mayor Rham chuckled while doing a plie: "It's easy to do business in Chicago when you know 'the rules.' Chick-Fil-A can open in our town as long as it adopts 'Chicago Values.' "

(2) hire six of the alderman's friends who work only random days of the month,
(3) BIG AL from the Mayor's office picks up all cash in brown paper bags at CFA's back door,
(4) Chick Fil A staff trained to shoot 10-12 customers per month,
(5) Any CFA customers actually killed must be registered to vote as Democrats,
(6) $100,00 campaign contribution to Obama,
(7) Free food to Jesse Jackson, Jr, who is now "convalescing," b/c he screwed up buying Obama's Senate seat.

19 people shot (none by Chicago PD) in about 8 hours on a weeknight. Proof positive that marksmanship classes in the gummint skewels and an ammunition stamps program are desperately needed in Chicago.
