Akin is a complete ego-driven idiot. He’ll probably prattle on about how God supposedly told him to stay in. Right now I think Palin’s idea of running a write-in candidate the party and conservatives can get behind is probably the best way to try to salvage the situation.
When he jumps out of the race we need a money bomb to whoever will be placed on the ballot (hopefully John Brunner) AND we need to hammer Claire as the LIBERAL EXTREMIST Ubama butt-girl that she is!

Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) will hold a press conference somewhere in St. Louis County at 5:15 Eastern Standard time.
He will announce he's staying in the Missouri Senate race, multiple news outlets are reporting.
The more Romneybots and the GOP-e pile on, the more likely he is to receive even a greater backlash of sympathy, remain in the race and the more the attacks on him will boomerang on Willard by angering social conservatives.
I have the official release. The text is embargoed, which means media are not supposed to be reporting its contents.
Since the Drudge Report has already reported this, I think I can say that the release says absolutely nothing about what Akin will say in his press conference.
Any speculation about what Rep. Akin plans to say is nothing but speculation at this point unless the reporter has inside information leaked to him.
We’ll all know more in about an hour.
So he’s holding a presser to say he’s still in...he should fire his Press Sec.
Of course that would reduce his staff to just him and his wife and he’d be firing his son.
On one level I’m disgusted because it hurts to polls...on the other hand I can’t help but watch this slow motion car wreck with a little bit of child like amazement.

I can’t imagine him holding a news conference to announce he is going to stay in the race. He has done that on Hannity’s show already but weirder things have happened. He should have done this on Monday. I hope if indeed he does drop out that his name can be removed from the ballot. I guess a judge will decide that.

Why hold another presser if he is staying in? He already said he was staying in. I just wish he would shut the hell up at this point. He has already lost the seat!! We should just ignore him and his delusions at this point.
