It’s a story that’s not often told. Mitt Romney at his family’s summer home in Wolfeboro, N.H. on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee whisking into the night on a Jet Ski with two of his sons to rescue a drowning family of four, their two friends, and their dog.

On the weekend of July 4th, 2003, the Romney family was enjoying their picturesque summer home in New Hampshire on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. In the early evening, according to reports at the time, Craig Romney and his older brother Josh were cleaning up the beach while their father rummaged through the garage. Suddenly, screams from the lake broke the silence.

"We heard a whole bunch of screaming," Josh Romney told the Boston Herald. The Romney brothers and their father quickly raced to their Jet Skis. "We tore out of there and my dad hopped on the other Jet Ski and came out right after us."

The screams came from Robert Morrissey, of New Jersey, his wife, their two adult children, two family friends, and the family dog.

A good story. I have to say that I was not happy to have him as our nominee, but after much consternation and prayer, I began to see that God had a hand in this. After he chose Ryan I have been at peace about it. My candidate never even declared...maybe the next time, but for now, Romney is the man and I pray that he wins a landslide victory. We will need to stay diligent and keep Washington on track, but I have come to terms with Romney’s win through prayer.

We need to stay enthused and try to deliver every Senate seat up for election this cycle to the republicans so we can oust Harry Reid, and keep a solid grip on the House. This is a tall order, but this is an even more important election than we realize, I am sure. Later we’ll probably realize just how close tot he brink we came/are.

“”Though the lake was calm, the water warm, and they all were wearing life vests”” and had already used their cell phone.

As heroic as it is to pick up people in a lake, instead of not picking them up.

Here is the truth about his other “heroism” regarding the teenage daughter of a fellow Mormon Bishop, Melissa Gay, that you mentioned and the ad he has used to promote it.

This one time effort for a powerful, wealthy fellow Mormon leader and executive has never been done again by Mormon Bishop Romney, it was Mormon insider stuff by the elites, way over the top for a teen girl that went to a rave and stayed with her friends for a couple of days.

Mormon Bishop, Robert Gay, the Bain executive is at the top among Mormon leaders, On March 31, 2012, he became a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy.

“But several acquaintances of the teen who knew her well at the time and have not spoken publicly before told The Daily a different story: one of a rebellious adolescent in a moment of high-spirited escapism who hid from her parents in relative safety in an upscale New Jersey town.

And they credited the group of new friends she made during her disappearance, including a boyfriend, as the ones who ultimately encouraged Melissa Gay — daughter of Romney’s colleague at private equity firm Bain Capital — to head home to her panicked family.”

“Did Mitt Romney ‘save’ this girl? No,” said Doug Becker, the then-boyfriend and now a 32-year-old pastor in the same town of Rockaway, N.J. “But I do think what spurred her going home was the kind of coverage it was getting, and I think [Romney] was pretty responsible for that.”

“Another childhood friend, speaking anonymously, was more blunt. “I think the ad is incredibly misleading. Dishonest is the word for it,” the friend said. “She wasn’t saved, she ran away to go to a rave, and got lost and wound up in New Jersey. She paged a friend to come get her.”

It’s interesting to see that you registered here on “tax day” this year — April 15, 2012. Easy to remember and not as bad as an April Fools Day registration.

I actually was working for EFTPS at the time, the payment system for the IRS. EFTPS is privately run, though, and is not technically the government, just a contractee. I got laid off after the tax rush, with all the people paying on time and all the people paying late. They often made jokes about helping Obama pay the deficit. The ones who owned businesses were primarily conservatives.
