Akin stepped in it, and he cannot unstep out of it.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.

[ Where and when was it shown? Was it shown during the regular commercial runs during regular programing or was it part of a news program or something like that? ]

I’ve been seeing it during regular commerical programming. It is a horrible ad. He needs to drop it and move on to something else. He needs to start highlighting Obama’s failed record and tying the shrew to it.

Perhaps you're expected to take the results of this question to be representative or indicative of that...

Yeah, I guess that's asking a bit too much.

So, thank you for socialism, Messrs. Akin and Huckabee.
Akin and Huckabee are two of the strongest pro-life politicians we have. One has to trust they know what they are doing in this regard. Remember, come January 2013, 40 years of abortion will have transpired in the United States. Could these two men be helping Christ usher in His new period? Instances in the Bible where God made major changes and transformations after the period of 40

If I might ask...what time of day? Prime time, late night, throughout the day?

He needs to drop it and move on to something else.
Like I mentioned earlier he may not be able to. It depends on what his contract says.
If it's worded properly he could have to pay a substantial penalty for having the spots pulled.

He needs to start highlighting Obama’s failed record and tying the shrew to it.
It's all about the Benjamins. If you don't have the Benjamins to produce and air the ads...
Well, there ya go. Who pulled the funding from him?

Sounds like some are feeling politically raped, ie. that someone is forcing himself on them against their will because he wants what he wants. They want him to “withdraw” and he will not. It is this attitude that is the problem more than the misspeak. Women and men hear things differently when it comes to these sorts of issues. A man who is tone deaf is not always a good candidate.

Also keep in mind that Huckabee was just VERY recently responsible for a miraculous turnout at Chick-fil-A...
"[b]usy was not the word, mobbed or inundated would be more accurate; it was so busy that if you didn't know what was going on ahead of time you could easily assume that Jesus Himself must be handing out chicken, if not also miraculously multiplying it,"
and of course Akin (interesting name.. he must be achin') was unjustly torpedoed for commentary, yet still remains afloat. Strong men?! I think so..

I don’t know about late night, but I have seen it in primetime and throughout the day. I’ve seen it during local news programming in all 3 times slots.

He needs to stop running that ad. It gains him nothing, imo. If he wants to neutralize the fallout over his idiotic statement, go after Obama’s opposition to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, support of live birth abortions, and opposition to parental consent laws. Then ask, how McCaskill can support a President who is so extreme. He needs to go on offense. As long as he is explaining his position on rape, he is losing amd losing big.

The honorable thing to do would have been to step aside for another conservative alternative. Staying in the race is completely selfish.

Where and when was it shown?

It was shown between 6:30-7:00 on Ch. 5, CBS, and between 9:00-10:00 on Ch.4, FOX, during regular commercial runs during regular programming.

If it was shown during regular commercial breaks you do realize that TV stations sell blocks of air time for advertising on the local and national level and that contracts are signed ensuring that the ads/commercials run, don't you?

Your comment, although interesting, does not address my comment that Akin has made NO effort to move this issue off the table. I wanted an "I misspoke, but here's what we need to be talking about ..." ad; not a cringe-worthy talking head ad.

Don"t start being snarky with those of us who have stated that we will vote for Akin in spite of his comments, and not because of them.

Well then read my reply 65. It's all about the Benjamins.

I won’t disagree with you. It is not helping. It needs to be pulled pronto.

He suggested that he was going to run against the establishment

Deliberately encouraging divisiveness among voters without regard for the potentially ruinous results.

Amazing that anyone who is pro-life would willingly risk Obamacare (and hence the permanent nationalization of abortion) becoming entrenched.

Six more years of Claire, unless we can get a popular write-in candidate like Kit Bond, or James Talent.

If Akin is destined to lose at this time, then there is a very high probability that his replacement will lose as well.

Are there any odds makers out there who would determine the odds of a replacement winning or losing.

Yeah, new ads hitting McCaskill would definitely help.

Ann Wagner would be a good replacement but she is set where she is. She is a lock-in for his old Congressional District, a sure thing that she will win without a fight. She would not trade that for this and I don't think anyone could blame her. I have listened to discussions about viable replacement candidates and it is hard to come up with one especially at this late date.

This am one of our local media outlets had a professional Republican adviser discussing the 'state of the state of Akin'. (I am most certainly paraphrasing) Akin, Wagner, and Emerson are all good friends, and the belief was that should Akin bow out, either of these two ladies would be the 'best' candidate to take on Claire... for all the reasons cause by Akin.

They once said it was impossible for a write-in candidate to win a Senate Seat, but look what happened in Alaska in 2010.

The write-in candidate would have to be someone who is well-known and respected by Republicans, Independents, and Reagan Democrats, hopefully with an easy to spell name.

No decision will be made no, but maybe in a couple of weeks. We can hope Akin will either surge to the lead (unlikely) or drop out completely (also unlikely).

Easy to spell names: Bond, Talent, Ashcroft, Danforth.

(prediction: someone will post that all of these are RINOs, we need a real “conservative” like Akin)

Missouri is not Alaska.

Easy to spell names: Bond, Talent, Ashcroft, Danforth.

If you do that you might just as well spell: McCaskill.

Right as of this moment I have NO choice but to vote for Akin. I want Claire to go back to running her nursing home empire, so she can distribute those ‘pills instead of procedures’ to old American grandmothers.... and be her brother’s keeper.

But I sure do expect those out of state Akin warriors to put their money where their mouths are.
