Ron Paul on Romney: ‘I don’t fully endorse him for president’
Yahoo ^ | 8/26/2012 | Chris Moody

TAMPA -- Mitt Romney's presidential campaign gave Texas Rep. Ron Paul a chance to speak at the Republican National Convention, but he declined due to the conditions of the offer, the New York Times reports:

Mr. Paul, in an interview, said convention planners had offered him an opportunity to speak under two conditions: that he deliver remarks vetted by the Romney campaign, and that he give a full-fledged endorsement of Mr. Romney. He declined.

"It wouldn't be my speech," Mr. Paul said. "That would undo everything I've done in the last 30 years. I don't fully endorse him for president."

I voted for RP in the primary in NYS but have to say - he and his cult of fanatics make me regret my vote lately.

Time for The Nut to go back to the mother-ship for another 4.

He was nothing but a Romney tool.

Why should he? Fiscally he is to the right of Obama. I can’t see why people have to endorse people that they don’t want too. It would be interesting to see if he would have endorsed Bachmann had she gotten the nod. I think Paul thinks Romney is full of crap like the rest of us here.

I share some of the sentiment, although RP reminds me of a cuckoo clock. I will be voting AGAINST Soetoro more than I will be voting FOR Romney.

Not sure “the rest of us here” is an accurate statement.

What makes me sick is the RP fanatics who whine about how he is treated by the GOP.

If RP does not even endorse the GOP nominee, then what does he expect?

Let’s not vote for Romney so the Marxist in Chief can have “more flexibility” in the second term! Yeah! That’s the ticket!!!!!!!

I agree with him. Thanks to Romney’s selection of Ryan as VP, I’ll now be flipping a coin between Romney and Johnson, instead of just voting for Johnson.

Still, I hope he and “his cult of supporters” raise hell at convention if Romney truly enshrines himself with the rules committee, as is being reported, through which he is enabled to potentially alienate grassroots and their platform along with the state committee. with

Wake up and smell the roses. Romney will be one of the greatest Presidents since Regan. Ignorance is no excuse.

Thought Ron Paul was a nut, but he is correct on this.
Mitt Romney is dictating that all bow down to his
RINOhood and his RomneyCARE. Not on this Earth.

You do not speak for me, and I’m confident many others will echo that sentiment.

“Each of you, for himself, by himself and on his own responsibility, must speak. And it is a solemn and weighty responsibility, and not lightly to be flung aside at the bullying of pulpit, press, government, or the empty catchphrases of politicians. Each must for himself alone decide what is right and what is wrong, and which course is patriotic and which isn’t. You cannot shirk this and be a man. To decide against your convictions is to be an unqualified and inexcusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let man label you as they may. If you alone of all the nation shall decide one way, and that way be the right way according to your convictions of the right, you have done your duty by yourself and by your country- hold up your head! You have nothing to be ashamed of.”

- Mark Twain

Not a RP supporter at all, but I think that any true conservative feels like he does. I bet Palin and many others declined same offer for same reason.

You wake up and smell the coffee.

Myth Romney is to the Political LEFT of Ted Kennedy.

He already instituted gay marriage AND
death panels AND RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE.

And he denies it all, while using it.

First of all, this article is Yahoo. In my opinion, it's designed to tee off the Paul supporters so they don't vote for Romney. Paul himself may have a different story. Given that, IF (and I doubt) this story is 100% accurate.....

I agree with Paul on some things, and I feel he goes a little overboard on others. I don't dislike the man at all, but it sounds like he's acting like a sore loser IF this story is anywhere near accurate. Would he rather have Oboma for 4 more years, or someone who's at least (if maybe not much) a move in the right direction?

Paul should humble himself, and think of the country first. Romney may not be his first choice, but another 4 years of Oboma should be completely out of the question - IF this article is true. (Remember, it's election season. The press is going to try to discourage people from voting Republican, so be careful about what you read. ALWAYS check the source first.)

Romney has never said a bad word about Paul and has gone out of his way to accomodate paul personally behind the scenes and now this?

Very dissapointing. Paul is putting himself over getting obama out of office.
