CHARLOTTE (CBS Charlotte) — The Democratic National Committee is taking flak from women’s groups for the lack of child care that is being provided at the convention.
The Charlotte Observer reports that children will not be allowed access on the floor of the Democratic National Convention and that daycare will not be provided for delegates who bring their kids.
Women’s rights activist Gloria Steinem and several National Organization of Women chapters have called out the DNC for the “discrimination against mothers with young children.”
“Women are the key to a Democratic victory, and sometimes, children are the key to women,” Steinem told The Daily Caller. “It’s both right and smart for the Democratic Convention to behave as if children exist.”
Delegate Susie Shannon feels the DNC is putting her in a tough position because she is bringing her 4-year-old along.
“The Democratic Party shouldn’t put you in a position where you have to choose between your child and participating in a political convention,” she told The Charlotte Observer.
Convention spokeswoman Joanne Peters told The Associated Press there is a list of private child care providers on an official vendor directory and that facilities are being provided for nursing mothers.
Zoe Nicholson, president for the Pacific Shore NOW chapter, is calling for the DNC to end this “outdated practice.”
“We believe this practice of discrimination needs to end in 2012,” Nicholson told The Daily Caller. “This is the year for the Democratic leadership to demonstrate comprehensive support of women, ending this outdated practice and to state publicly that it supports true family values.”

How many kids are interested in a political convention? These are probably the same people who bring thier kids to the welfare office and other places where the kids get bored and start misbehaving.
Maybe the Democrats ought to advertize free abortions at the convention while you wait?

The DNC’s very raison d’être is to empower the unproductive, whiny, entitled, perpetual victim, grievance-mongering, gimme gimme gimme free stuff class.
Nice to see them on the receiving end of what their idiocy has spawned.

In keeping with their “values” I suggest the organizers just inform the delegates that any children found on the floor will be subject to a late term choice.
Now they are calling for a sensitive approach to mothers with young children?
Their big campaign known as the Equal Rights Amendment was specifically designed to remove any protection from "mothers with young children." And, now they want the DNC to be more sensitive?
AFTER THEY HAVE PUSHED FOR THE 52 MILLION MOTHERS ABORTED FROM THEIR CHILDREN SINCE ROE V. WADE?

For Red Diaper Doper babies? There seems to be some irony in the fact that people who support a platform of choice versus life are cranky about not having someone to watch their kids for them.
No mention of what the RNC is doing, unless I somehow missed it. That must mean they’re providing childcare.
“War on Children”——exactly-—not only pushing the killing of babies (abortion) and forcing toxins into young girls bodies so they can be sexual objects, but the forcing of sodomy into the minds of young boys (destruction of the Boy Scouts as we have known it)-—to recreate their ideal society of Ancient Greece and Rome-—to force a relative, paganism/occultism/Satanism Worldview on America where child sacrifices, homosexual orgies and where biological connections do not matter.
All their “policies” are to erase God and Christian Ethics-—that along with the Moral Laws Of Natural Law Theory—Erase exactly what made America “Exceptional” and “possible” in the first place.
All their ideas, from Marxism/socialism to Godlessness, will destroy all semblance of order and unity-—to create a hellhole on earth.
With the amount of pervs and muslims attending, why would you want your purposely get your kid sanduskied?
Probably the same people that think a horse racing track is a petting zoo with mutual clerks.
Don’t usually care but they were brought up to where I sit due to rain.
The families came up with parents that have no idea that behavior outside is not the behavior that works well inside.
Those children fortunate enough NOT to be aborted, of course.
